On a cold Tuesday morning, Adam woke up, he turned to check his clock and the time hadn't even past 6:30 AM.

"Another nightmare..." he thought to himself. "God, I need to get some actual sleep."

Adam checked his phone and opened up Discord, his friends had been talking again, he couldn't even bring himself to completely read it.
It took him some time to realise what he had been reading.

'It's going to take some getting used to-'
'Agh! I don't even know anymore'
'it's gonna be okay river don't worry'
'Is it going to be? I can't just keep having these thoughts every night!'
'river please, we're here for you...'

"Fuck." He'd have to scroll up to understand, though it's not that unusual, he was full of panic and worry but he was pretty sure he knew what was going on...

Why this scenario had happened time and time again Adam could never place his finger... or fingers, on. He had scrolled up to when he'd gone offline the last night, blimey, that was such a fun time! Adam and his friends were finally all happy for once, "Clearly that never lasts though."

After a little reading he figured it out... Again he wasn't the only one who had a nightmare that night, it seemed that this one shook River really hard.

But, he also noticed that he and his girlfriend had the same nightmare, about meeting up, sharing their time, and the other disappearing from their life completely, not even knowing how to deal with the pain and sorrow of losing someone so close to them, neither of them could get it out of their heads, even if they'd only been awake for a short amount of time, he didn't expect this one to leave anytime soon, if at all...

The only thing on his mind was the fact that the nightmare they'd had *wasn't* true, and will never be true on his watch, he knew he had to explain his nightmare too, for anything to make sense.

After a few minutes Adam had taken enough, he pulled together the courage and began typing, he explained every little detail he could remember, he seemed to be able to remember considerably more from this nightmare than usual, after he finished, Adam could almost hear the silence from both of them. He considered the fact that he did drop a pretty large amount of text onto them and that they'd probably just be reading it, so he'd give it some time.

Adam closed his eyes and thought about everything. His life till now, his life now, and a lot of thinking about his future, how as far as he could see, his future was something to work towards, not something to fear, sure life wouldn't be easy, and it never is, but his future... Boy, he was sure excited for his future.

Adam again checked back, still no reply, a little worried and maybe a tad annoyed too, he put his phone down again, and closed his eyes, and went back to his thoughts, but swiftly enough he fell back to sleep.

He knew not what he had missed until he awoke later that morning.
