My First Freedom
POV:Uri"Are you okay?"
The softest words I've heard in many years. My hands gripped the cold metal floor as I pushed myself to sit up in search of the mysterious voice I could hear. My lower back agonised with pain that carved into my spine.Partly sitting up. I realized I was laying on a metal hospital bed, covered in a dark red liquid, in a dark damp room. The only source of light was coming from behind me. I felt lost, broken and crippled.
As flashbacks of the things those humans did, came back to me, I looked across to the source of light, only to see a reconstructed girl with patched up clothing and an old rusty lamp. As I stared at this poor soul, who looked like an incomplete jigsaw puzzle, the only word I could speak was 'Help,' because when I saw her, I didn't feel as frightened as I should have.
"You should probably keep a little distance from her"
I guess I thought she was my saviour. If anyone would help me it was her because she looked just as lost as I did. Her sympathetic eyes blinked slowly like she understood exactly how I felt. I just wanted to fly over and hug her. No one in the past 2182 years had ever asked how I felt.
I tried to fly over and give her a hug but when I went to lift my wings, I felt agony. My left wing on my back shutters slightly. My whole spine trembled with pain. I turned around shocked to see... The aftermath of their experiments. I guess I didn't remember at the time all the horrible things they did to me.
Then the immense pain overwhelmed me and everything went black.
