Have you ever wondered what it's like to be allergic to money? To never have a piggy bank. Or to ever flip a coin into a fountain. That was the case for Sheila. She is allergic to the metal in coins and the paint that goes into the bills.
It all started at school. When Sheila's parents gave her lunch money, her hands would get itchy and there would be spots all over her. With several tests, the doctors finally figured out what was wrong with her.
From there on out Sheila packed her lunch from home. Or her parents gave her money to her friend.
Sheila's classmates always made fun of her and called her "coin." During lunch kids would often throw coins at Sheila which left her with spots over her face.
One afternoon, right before they were taking yearbook pictures, some kids rubbed money on her. In her picture she looked like red tomato. After everyone took their pictures, nobody wanted to be Sheila's friend because they thought she was sick.
On Sheila's birthday, her parents got her a card. It was probably the best gift that she has ever got. Nobody made fun of her and messed with her. Some kids were jealous and some kids admired Sheila. But in the end Sheila was happy.
