Things don't always work out as we expect them to do. On a blustery afternoon still tired from the night before, a lady slept in front of a television screen that was still on. She's been doing the same things for the pass few weeks. She woke up tired because of the sleepless night she had. Life was going hard on her and she didn't know what to do. She couldn't understand how was she going through so much pain and sorrow at such a young age.

She stood up and walked straight to the kitchen. Carelessly she took the milk out of the fridge, the cereal out of the pantry and sat at the table eating her breakfast. After her breakfast, she took her diary and wrote some notes on it. Her phone started to lit up showing an unknown ID, even though she didn't have this number saved in her phone, she knew who it was.

"Hello Ms. Robbers, we are calling from ACUL college. You haven't paid the last 3 semesters, you understand that we can't give you more chances, right?"

"I do" Shan mumble with a discouraging attitude

"Just to remind you that your limit date is this sunday." The college counselor remarked.

Frustrated she rubbed her temples and let out a heavy breath, "Perfect timing", she thought.

"Yeah, I'll pay soon. I promise." Shan responded tormented.

"Okay, then we'll keep in contact Ms. Robbers." commanded the counselor on the other line.

Shan didn't even bother to say goodbye and finished the call. She knew this was going to be a tough week. She, a young adult that ran away from her parents protection being dumb and naive, with no hope nor chances of going back to her procreators. Life was so hard for her at this point. She had a lots of debts to pay and money wasn't even enough for food. Because of all this problems she started losing interest in life.

She decided to go out for a walk to clear her mind. The only thing that she could think of was the what if?... what if she wouldn't had run from her home? What if she was still living with her parents? What if she was rich and didn't have to worry about money anymore? What if?... what if?... what if?

As if it was a scene from a movie full of cliches, it started to rain. However, she was so consumed by her thoughts that she didn't notice the people around her rushing for shelter. Once she realized the situation that was going on, it was too late, she had already been covered on irriguous and freezing clothing. Her mental state was getting enfeeble and so was her physical state. She was tired, stressed, overwhelmed and suffocating. She got a text from an unknown ID informing her that her best friend passed away. She couldn't take it any longer, she fainted.

A couple of hours passed and she wakes up in a hospital room. Next to her was a boy with nice brown hair straightened up and brushed in a way that will only let you see part of his forehead, hazel eyes that could decipher your darkest secrets with just a look, a profiled nose that went along with his beautiful smile, and a jawline that any men will envid. He looked so perfect, that she hated it.

"So, you have woken up!" He exclaimed remarking something too obvious "I'm Lucas flintstone."

Lucas extend his hand claiming hers to shake it as if it was her duty to do so. She growled and weakly stood up completely ignoring Lucas hand.

'Sorry sir, I don't know what type of debt I have with you," Shan said effortlessly "but I don't have any money to pay you back now. I promise that I will pay back, just give me a couple weeks."

"I'm not here to charge you for something. I am here to guarantee you a wish." Lucas giggle because of her attitude.

"In that case, I don't have time to be dealing with your fairytale dreams and uncertain magic" Shan responded annoyed, she really hated when people made her wasted time that she didn't own.

Shan started walking to the door with hard steps till Lucas kept talking.

"At least stay and get treatment in the hospital, only till your health improves," Lucas insisted worried "I am paying the hospital bills, so don't worry."

"As I said before, I don't have enough money to pay you back and free things always come with a future price." Shan admitted tired.

"Then take the wish," Lucas protested sitting negligently in the hospitals bed "that will be the payment for your hospital bills." He smiled.
"Fine, whatever." Shan blabbered sitting next to him.

"Lay down, close your eyes and sleep." Lucas whispered beside her.

She did as he asked. She already had lost interest in everything, anyway it wasn't as if she had another good choice, it was either: doing this and taking the risk of being rape and murder by some kind acting stranger, or going back to the real world where she had a mountain of debts, no food and where she'll need to see how all the things in her apartment get sequestrate because she hasn't paid the debts. Lucas stared at her for a while, she looks just as he remembered her, long rebel brown hair, long lashes that fit perfectly with her big dark brown eyes, a delicate jawline with a normal nose and full plumped cherry blossom colored lips. Just as she looked as a kid. He remembers the times when she complained because of her short stature and now she is a tall young woman.

As she fell asleep, he took care of an old promise he had made. He paid her college, water, electricity, and housing debts. Just as he had promised Shan's best friend, he took care of her. Once again he stared at her, sleeping in the same room and in the same exact bed her best friend passed away a couple hours ago. His intentions were to get her there in time to at less give her best friend the chance to say goodbye.

The next day, Shan wakes up and sees Lucas sleeping on the sofa. She searches for her phone and checks her messages, to found for the amusement, texts of her collectors telling her that her debts had been settled. She looked at a sleeping Lucas and with tears in her eyes she mutters "thank you" again and again smiling with a wicked smile. Lucas was doing his job of accomplishing his purpose, making Shan happy. After such a long time, Shan felt relieved and happy.

When Shan got better and the doctors said it was okay for her to go home, Lucas went and picked her up. They went to a close coffee shop where Lucas explain to Shan the accident that had happened to her best friend and the reasons of why she couldn't remember her family, friends, nor childhood. Time passed and Lucas and Shan started to hang around that same coffee shop a lot more.

"Shan, you know, what characterises most psychopaths?" Lucas asked looking around and popping that question from nowhere.

"Weird question, but no, what are they?"

"The fact that all of them develop the lost of interest on other people's life. Like if they didn't have empathy for others." Lucas said without hesitating, he drank his coffee. He knows that all this weeks he's been drinking poison coffee from Shan.

"If you knew it all along, then why didn't you stopped me. You're not less guilty than I am, you knew it and you didn't stop me." Shan answered calmed but in a teasing tone.

"I know I'm not. Anyway, when did you recover your memories?" Lucas asked really chill even though he knew he was going to die soon.
"A couple days after you explained me the accident." Shan said coughing frenectly spontaneously.

"Good to know." Lucas respond carelessly and standing up, leaving the coffee shop after viewing Shan coughing blood.

He made his way to the hospital and got treatment for himself. A week before this event Lucas found Shan's dairy and shamelessly read it. He found out a painful truth. In the diary was written the exact way that Shan had killed the person he called her best friend, he saw how carefully detailed and described the event was in her notes, the ways of murdering someone slowly, quietly and painfully. A few pages after her supposed best friend murdering plan he saw the way she was slowly killing him with the coffee he was drinking everyday with her and how perfectly planned was everything, how did she manage to fake her debts and illnesses, the way the perfectly manipulated and played with everyone's mind. And so he concluded, indeed She's a killer queen.
