──────────────8 Letters

A few years later...

Kailey combed her hair. She cut her hair since she graduated high school. Now, she's a college girl. It's been years since she haven't spoken to Corbyn.

She did everything she can to avoid him. Blocking his number, blocking his social media, and avoid him at school until she graduate.

Her phone buzzes, she pick it up before she even looked who was calling. "Hello?"

"Hi, Kailey," a voice said.

"Hi Cane, what's wrong?" Kailey asked.

"Look, I have this extra ticket for a concert. And you have to come with me. Please."

"Fine," Kailey replied. "When is it?"

"9 P.M, I'll pick you up okay?" Cane said.

"Okay, who—"

"I'll pick you up at eight, and please put some make-up on," Cane cuts off.

"Yeah, I will. But—"

"Bye." Cane then cuts the line.

"I was about to ask who's concert we're gonna see," Kailey mumbled.

It was 7 P.M, so maybe she has to change her clothes. She then opened her closet, searching for her best outfit. Then, her eyes glanced at a shirt. She took some leggings and put on a beanie. Then she put on her make-up.

She heard the sound of the car horn from outside

She heard the sound of the car horn from outside. She took her black bag and put on some white shoes. She ran towards the door, finding Cane who was in her car.

Cane opens the car window, waving. "Hurry up!"

"I know, I know." Kailey half mumbled, locking the door and ran towards Cane's car.

Cane drove her car to a venue, the concert had already started since half an hour ago.

They walked through the crowd to get to the front row. And that's when Kailey's heart stopped. Her eyes were glued to a boy with blonde hair, and beautiful diamond-liked eyes.

"Corbyn..." she said.

Cane smirked. "It's their band―Jonah, Jack, Zach, Daniel and Corbyn. They are called Why Don't We."

As the concert continued, Kailey can't say a single word. She even didn't listen to the screaming teenagers that were fan-girling over the boys. The world was oblivious.

"Good evening, New York City!" Corbyn shouted, that made the crowd screamed louder.

"Ow, I think my ears are bleeding," Jack commented.

"Oh well, it's been a great evening," Daniel said. "And it's nearly eleven so..."

The crowd yelled in disapoinment.

"So... this is our last song that we will perform," Zach states.

"A song that was originally Corbyn's," Jonah also stated.

A slight smile is plastered on Corbyn's face. "This is a song for my crush when I was in high school."

The crown yelled a long 'awww'.

"But well, it didn't end well," Corbyn said. "I.... I just wish I said those eight letters to her. But... it's too late." Corbyn said.

"It's not," Kailey mumbled. Her eyes dripped tears. Her sight is blurred because of the tears that are flooding. "It's not too late."

"This is for you, Kails," Corbyn said, though he didn't know why he said that. He didn't know that Kailey is there, watching him perform.

That the music played, and Jonah opened the song.

But Kailey didn't pay close attention to the others singing. She only looked at Corbyn, who finally realized her presence.

"I said those words before, but it was a lie," Zach sang. "And you deserved to hear them a thousand times."

"If all it is is eight letters, why is it so hard to say? If all it is is eight letters, why am I in my own way?" Jack continued the song. "Why do I pull you close and then asked you for space?"

Corbyn kneel right on the edge of the stage, right in front of Kailey. That made the other boys surprised because that wasn't in the rehearsel. But they knew Corbyn kneeled to who. So they swept that a side.

"If all it is is eight letter, why is it so hard to say?" Corbyn sang, reaching for Kailey's hand.

Kailey gave her hand, and Corbyn kissed Kailey's hand with his lips.

"I love you," Corbyn whispered.

But even before Kailey can reply, Corbyn stood up and gather with the other boys.

"You happy?" Cane asked Kailey. "Daniel asked me to bring you here."

Kailey smirked. "Thank you... thank you... thank you..." Kailey cried. She lets her tears drip from her eyes.

---

"Daniel!" Cane shouted as she caught Daniel with her eyes. Cane ran towards Daniel, and hopped then squeezed him tightly.

Daniel hugged Cane back with a huge smile on his face. "Hi, Cane."

After a few long minutes, they break the hug.

"Hi, Kailey," Daniel said to Kailey.

Kailey gave Daniel a light smile. "Hi, Blue Eyes."

Daniel chuckled.

Kailey then caught Corbyn with her eyes. She stood there, frozen, as that blonde hair walked towards them.

"Hey, Kails," Corbyn said with his soft voice.

"You too, Bean," Kailey gave a light smile.

Daniel cleared his throat. "Me and Cane are going to leave you guys, so...."

Kailey's eyes widened. "Cane, don't leave. Please. I-"

"Hey," Cane tried to calm Kailey down. "It's alright, I'm sure it'll be okay. Don't be scared. I'm sure everything will be alrigt. Okay? I'll be gone now."

As Daniel and Cane left, silence was a bubble for Kailey and Corbyn.

"I am sorry," Corbyn said. "Those are the eight letters that I want to say to you, Kails."

Kailey didn't reply, she only can stand still.

"Kails?"

"I-" A teardrop streamed down her cheek. "I don't know what to say, Bean. But I-I'm just... I'm just confused with all these events and..."

Corbyn pulled Kailey's hand, and kissed her lips gently.

"I love you too..." Kailey said.
