Chapter Twenty Two

"Morning" Naomi said as she walked to the coffee maker and poured herself some coffee.
"Morning" A male voice said.

She turned around and couldn't believe her eyes. She put down the mug and walked over to the person and hugged them.

"Omg Hyuck! What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see you before the party so I came on an earlier train"

She took the mug and sat next to him by the table.

"So how have you been?" He looked concerned.
"Okay, who put you up to this? Was it Nini?"
"I don't what you're talking about" He didn't sound convincing at all.

She looked at him with the 'I know you' look.

"Okay fine. It was Jaehyun... We've all been worried about you. You never hang out with us anymore, every time I ask you to join with us to the movies and stuff, you always make some lame excuses that you have other plans when everyone knows it's because Mark comes to these things too. I mean cmon how long are you going to avoid him?"
"I'm avoiding him!? He hasn't spoken to me in six months, let alone look at me. I'm sorry if I didn't want to hang out in a group where someone that used to be my best friend, pretends that I don't exist"
"Wait, what?" He was confused.
"He did that to you?"
"Yeah. I thought you knew"
"No, no one told me that but now that I know I'm gonna kill him"
"Don't. He isn't worth it"

"You're here!"  Jaehyun said as he walked over to Naomi and hugged her.
"Of course I'm here, where else would I be?"
"It's just we haven't seen you in a while. You never hang out with us anymore"
"Well I'm here now. Besides I could never miss our christmas parties" She chuckled.

Everyone was having so much fun, sitting in a circle and telling stories. Mark hadn't shown up yet and Johnny wasn't there either.

Jaemin and Jaehyun walked in to the game area and Naomi followed them.

"So umm, where's Johnny?" She asked.
"Don't you know? He went abroad to study for six months" Jaemin explained.
"He just left all of a sudden?"
"Yup"

She sat down and said:
"He left because of me, didn't he?"
"Yeah"
"Great... One guy won't talk to me and the other left the whole fucking country because of me. What does that say about me?"
"Not a damn thing" Jaehyun said as he sat beside her.
"No matter what, Johnny would've left anyway, it's all he talked about for six months. And Mark is just a confused jerk" Jaehyun added and they both laughed a bit.

Naomi went back to the others. She sat among them while the others talked. She didn't particularly talk to anyone, she just listened.

Suddenly the door opened and Mark walked in. Their eyes met and Naomi noticed that he was coming over to where she was.

"Why is he coming towards me?"

She looked down at her hands and waited for him to arrive but he didn't.

Naomi looked up and saw a disappointment; His girlfriend was next to her. Naomi got up and took her coat and walked out of the room.

"I'm so sorry for the way I acted. Can we get back together?" She pleaded.
"No! I'm the one who broke up with you remember. We're done, so please leave!" Mark shouted.
"Fine! Then go to that fat ass bitch Naomi that you clearly love so much!"
"Don't ever call her that again! If someone's a bitch here, it's you" He said as he left the room they were talking in.

He looked all over for Naomi but she was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's Nao?" He asked Nini.
"She left"
"Where did she go?"
"I don't know"

"I gotta find her..."

He walked out of the room and around the halls, until he heard someone playing the piano in the auditorium. He opened the door a bit

"That was beautiful" He said as he approached her after she was done playing.
"Ohh, so now he speaks to me"
"Okay, I deserve that"
"You deserve so much more shit than that! I mean where do I begin? Ohh, here's one: You left me!"
"Before the summer we made a promise: that three weeks from that we would see eachother in our spot by the tree and then we would be ready to take out relationship to the next level. Three weeks went by and I stood under that tree in the pouring rain for hours, hoping you'd come but you didn't. Then I thought maybe you weren't ready but then whenever I tried to call you or text you, you didn't respond. Maybe you needed space so I gave you space. But the next time I saw you, you did the worst thing possible; you acted like I wasn't there and that I didn't exist. What kind of a person does that!? I don't know what kind of an excuse you have and I sure don't wanna hear it because I hate you and..."

Suddenly his lips crashed into hers. She pushed him away and slapped him.

"What did you do that for!?"
"Because I love you!" He shouted.

"The reason I ghosted you was because I was scared. I watched yours and Johnny's relationship for years and it was so perfect that I didn't think I could ever be good enough for you"
"If it was so perfect that why did I break up with him because of you"

He looked in to her eyes.

"I broke up with him because I was in love with you, I have been for a long time but it doesn't matter anymore. It's too late"

She was about to walk away but he grabbed her hand and spun her around and kissed her deeply. She kissed him back this time with tears falling down her cheek.

"What was that?" She asked with a tiny smile on her face.
"It's not too late"
