RRRIIIINNGGGGG

I walk out of my math class and put my math book in my locker. I looked at the drawings in my locker and decided to add a new one. I got an orange Post-it out of my bag and I drew a flower with my pen. Once I was finished, I posted it on my locker.

"Gaby!" I turned towards the voice and saw Joey.

"Hey Joey!" I jumped at this voice because it came our of nowhere. I turned to my left and I saw Sam.

"What's wrong Gaby? It looks like you've seen a ghost." She said.

"Nothing. It's nothing." I said. 'I must've dozed off into space.' I thought quietly.

"Hey guys, let's go to Gym class together!" Joey said enthusiastically. Sam and I both nodded and we walked to the girl's locker room together. Once we were in front of the door, we heard something as if someone was crying. The three of us looked at each other and shrugged it off. I opened the door and we saw Kaelen crying and being comforted by Gilly and Tintin. Sam, Joey, and I rushed to Kaelen's side and asked we what was wrong.

"E-erick." She managed to sniffle out.

"What did he do?" I asked. She just cried louder and harder at this.

"We saw him making out with Emma by the vending machines." Gilly explained.

"That son of a bitch won't know what hit him." Tintin said.

"Stop crying, Kaelen. He doesn't deserve you." Joey said.

"Yeah. Come on," Sam pulled Kaelen's hands away from her face and fixed her up. "You can do better." She nodded and we helped fix herself up and we changed to our gym clothes. We got out and I realized, "I haven't seen Lottie today." I whispered to Sam.

"She is probably- oh there she is!" Sam pointed at the dirty blonde girl who was entering the gym and she had someone behind her. We heard a bunch of screams and I asked some random girl what was going on.

"It's Louis Tomlinson!!" She screamed in my ear. I rubbed my ear and I was almost 100% sure my right ear was deaf. Our coach blew a whistle but that didn't stop anything. Sam, Joey, Gilly, Tintin, Kaelen, and I just stood there covering our ears. Lottie walked towards me and Sam, "Hey, guess the secret's out now." She tried her best to say it with her hoarse voice. She walked to the girl'a locker room to the changed while our coach talked to Louis. We saw him explaining something to the coach and nodding while she was talking, but, we also saw him looking at... Kaelen. Kaelen didn't notice but we (Gilly, Tintin, Sam, Joey, Gaby) noticed. Although, Lindsay, who was beside Kaelen, thought Louis was looking at her.

"Oh my God! Lewis is looking at me!" She screamed. 'Directionator' I thought. Louis kept looking at Kaelen until Lottie came out of the locker room and she hugged him goodbye. Once he left the screams toned down by like 15%. Coach Gilliggins blew his whistle again and everyone shut up except Lindsay who was still bragging on how 'Lewis' was 'checking her out'

"My brother fancies your friend." Lottie pointed to Kaelen who was wiping her eyes and laughing from the jokes Tintin and Joey were telling her.

"Okay ladies, today you will have to climb the rope to the top. The higher you get, the higher the score. Let's go, go, go!" Coach Gilliggins shouted and blew his whistle. We all lined up by groups in front of the 4 ropes dangling from the gym's ceiling. Coach blew his whistle again and the first four people started to climb while Coach was scribbling down their names and scored on his clipboard. I was up next and when Tintin, the first one to climb on our group, came down and I started to climb once Coach blew his whistle. I grabbed onto the smelly rope and started to climb. I was able to make it to the top, but going down my ands and thighs felt like they were on fire because I slid by accident. Once I got a better grip, I brought myself to the ground.

"How do your hands feel?" Sam asked.

"Like their on fire." I answered.

"Did you check our hands if there are blisters?" I took a look at my red palms and didn't see any blisters or sign of injury.

"Nope. Nothing." I said. I walked to the back of the line and I watched everyone climb the rope and come back down.

Somehow, climbing the rope can represent something, like a heartbreak. Getting to the top can be hard and coming back can be tough, but once we get to the ground we know we are safe even if we get hurt.
