To all those who listen, to those who wish to learn.
May you benefit from this small story.
May you keep it in your heart forever.
Time is immortal. Time is immoral.
Time is eternal. Time is ethereal.
Time is powerful. Time is forgettable.
Time is all -consuming. Time is all creating.
People tend to compare time to a wheel, one that moves slowly yet steadily on. This simile is several thousand years old, Old enough to be mentioned in several ancient texts of historical and religious importance in our daily life.
The wheel of time carries everyone along with it, people like us being but one spoke in its eternal wheel.
The wheel is shaped like a circle: the symbol of completion. It voices the thoughts of those who lived and those who thought long, long ago. A thought as old as thought itself, that time is perfect.
As humans, we can only hope to imagine what perfection is like. Yet, this much I can tell you for sure:
The wheel of time moves ceaselessly on and we are all but spoke in the wheel. For a brief while, we rise to the top and stay there, at the very top and higher than any spoke before us or after. But then, we recede, and another comes to take our place, thus beating us back into the blackness whence we come.
Thus, the wheel moves on. Yet there will come a time when the spoke at the top shall rise again, and prove its dominance to all before it. This cycle repeats until the spoke is broken and ultimately replaced by another one in the infinite wheel, ready to go on.
The tale I am about to tell comes from a rather recent acquaintance of mine, hailing from a time and place that will take another book of its own to describe. The important thing is, that he has give me the liberty to tell you his story, of which he has given sufficient proof regarding the authenticity.
May you, the reader, enjoy this tale and take heed of the events in it.
