"Oh sweet mother of maple, not you!" I groaned exasperatedly and purposefully let go of Kino.

Jacks eyes grew wide of the oncoming dog but he swiftly motioned his hand in front of him. Kino froze in place and seemed to hover on air.

"Did you just freeze Kino?" I quizzed and took a step back. "I'm telling Tyler and he's gonna kick your ass back to Ireland."

"One. Sorry about your dog. Two. Please don't tell Tyler!! And three. I know what's happening with you and Mark in your dreams."

My ears pricked with interest and with fury. "Are you telling him to beat me up until I am the "Owl"?! Because if you are-"

"No, no Evan! I'm not part of it. He's just really desperate right now," Jack bit his lip anxiously. "Ever since you refused to be the Owl, he only thinks about how he can convince you to save his homeland. He's been focusing on you, and less on me."

Jack whispered his last few words with hurt eyes. He rubbed his arm as he looked to have his mind swirling with thoughts.

"I'm just here to tell you that he's stubborn, he won't stop until you see what he sees. Sometimes, that side of him, even scares me."

Jack offered a small smile but his eyes were watery and defeated.

"Well can you try and tell him to visit me less than often then? Cause, my pretty face can't have any more bruises on it," I managed to humour and signalled to my eye. "Lucky I got past Brian with these glasses."

"Don't do this to him Evan..." Jack trailed off and padded towards me.

"What do y-"

"He cares about you, he values you so much that when you don't appreciate him, it hurts him as well."

I stayed silent as Jack touched his frosty fingertips to my hurt eye. Little green waves of light swirled around the bruise and the irritation seemed to lessen until I couldn't feel it no more.

"I healed your eye. I'll tell Mark to not hurt your face anymore IF you promise to go home and give Brian a huge whopping kiss," Jack instructed formally and crossed his arms. "He's giving you all his love, time to give him some as well."

"Thanks..... can you unfreeze Kino now?"

"Oh fuck! Y-yeah," Jack remarked flusterdly and ambled towards the dog. He moved the dog until he was facing my direction and he expelled green light from his hands. Kino's legs started to move again.

The Dalmatian whined in a daze and tripped over his paws before sliding to my feet.

I helped him up before lifting my gaze but Jack had already disappeared.

Kino whined in confusion but nothing like a pat to soothe him.

"Let's go home Kino."

Kino scraped his claws along the wood floor and wandered around searching for Tyler like he normally does.

I moved along the hallway and peeked into the lounge room. Brian was facing the ceiling with closed eyes and loud snores.

I took out my phone and went onto camera to make sure that Jack healed my bruise. The dark rim around my eye was now gone as if it never happened.
