To my dad...

Men have been born of women
Valiant, charismatic and full of enigma
They have charmed those around them
And soldiered for them that they loved
But none would equal you
Not in my life

Men have suffered for their families
Their springy sparring offsprings
Their wives and relatives
Everything that they loved
Yet none would equal you
Not in my life

My daddy, you are so strong and valiant
For like a soldier you fought for your brood
And went hungry that I may eat
Thirsted that I might not thirst
A hero among many men
In my small dishevelled world

Despite the many challenges met
Your heart would with love melt
That you would awake like one spellbound
Even when weak and sick you fought
My hero among many men
Never to soul strew asunder

I love you and yearn for your embrace
For in that I know true love thrives
In your house I am always safe
Even if you are not a millionaire of coinage
You are my hero in mileage
So rich among men of this age

I am afar off to learn
But daddy, you are my light
The only star that made me shine
My only Shujaa among majors
My bedazzling mentor
My warrior Mr Kuria
