Their footsteps echoed throughout the abandoned street, no one else was out and about at 2am. Yoongi wrapped his arms around himself, somehow the June air was cold. Jeongguk noticed and pulled the smaller man in, holding him tight, sharing body heat as they walked.
“What drama is this?” Jeongguk rolled his eyes and Yoongi’s words, holding him closer. Yoongi felt his heart bang against his ribcage like crazy. Speeding up and making him the tiniest bit breathless. His chest hurt as he felt like it was tightening at Jeongguk’s touch.
The brunette rested his head on his best friend’s shoulder, “Ay, usually in the dramas the two hugging as they walk are in a relationship. We’re just friends, you know that.”
Yoongi forced a laugh out of his mouth, agreeing with him, “Of course, just friends.” He repeated, holding back tears that prickled the corners of his eyes.
Jeongguk looked up to the sky, “I wonder how Taehyung’s doing.”
The raven haired man gritted his teeth ever so slightly, as if Jeongguk just stabbed him and was only twisting the knife. He blinked back the tears and sighed loudly, “Why? Oh,” A wave of realisation came over him, “He’s got that snake interview.” He scoffed.
“Sn—Woah. Yoongi, chill. I get they’re an apposing Mafia to yours but—”
“No. Don’t tell me to chill. I told you what Namjoon did to my family, how he betrayed us. And to think, you were going to join them.”
Jeongguk let go and created a small distance, “Taehyung wanted me to apply I—”
“Taehyung wanted me to join,” He mocked, “If Taehyung told you to put a bullet through my head, would you?” Yoongi’s voice raised as he stopped dead in his tracks, those tears prickling again, something that always happened when he was mad.
“Well, yes. I’d do anything for Taehyung.”
Yoongi stayed completely still, he seemed to be frozen. His breath almost halting completely as he felt the tears fill up his waterline completely.
A few minutes passed, and Jeongguk only just processed what he said. Fights almost always occured between them. This was just one of many.
“Right, of cour—”
“I mean, you wouldn’t know what love feels like. You’re a murderer.”
He had enough. Yoongi pulled a pre-rolled joint out of his back pocket, along with a lighter. Making sure his lips are dry before placing the tip in-between his top and bottom lip, lighting the end. He inhaled the smoke and blew it out, in an opposite direction to Jeongguk.
“Then what’s Taehyung?”
Being caught out Jeongguk turned back around, he was going to take them to the hills but he’ll save it for another day, “I’ll see you later.”
Yoongi scoffed as he watched the younger walk away. He turned on his own heel, deciding to take the longer road back home, not wanting to bump back into Jeongguk. Knowing what will happen when the sun will rise. He'll fall for him all over again.
Tears rolled down his cheeks as he kept smoking, getting high and hoping to numb the pain. He didn't notice but a tear dropped onto the paper, “Shit,” he muttered under his breath, but he wasn't about to waste any weed.
He kept at it, even if the taste was gradually getting flatter and flatter due to the wetness. He dragged his feet along the pavement, only wishing for tomorrow to come sooner, rather than later.
