A stone in the midst of the sea
Resolute
Steadfast
Indomitable
But brokenTired and worn
Battered and beaten
By unrelenting tidesBulbous and misshapen
Strangled and eroded
By waves
By salt
By time
Arched, ribbed, and strainedRough
Dirty
Pocked and speckled
UglyA second look
Misshapen or organic?
Asymmetry is irrelevant
Ribs become grooves
Gracefully swooping
Carving
BendingSmooth
Natural
True beauty
Sculpted by the beating wavesBeating
Beating
Ba-bum
Ba-bum

The Dream
