Baker's POV

I've seen many things throughout my life. Sickness, betrayal, sadness, violence, death. But I've never seen anything quite like her.

When she walked through the train station doors, my eyes were on her immediately. Her dark wavy hair flowed down her back and swayed side to side as she moved across the entrance. She turned around suddenly, as if she could sense my eyes on her, and her gaze landed on me. The way her bright eyes looked me up and down with ferocity made me shudder. I looked at her the same way, noticing how her casual shirt and jeans hugged her body in such a flattering way. It was amazing how she could make such a normal outfit look so extraordinary. When she looked back up at my face, her confident smile brought on a small one of my own. It's been a long time since I've really smiled and meant it.

When a tall, slim man with thin wired glasses waved to her and walked in her direction, she turned away from me and greeted him with that same dazzling smile. It was then that I noticed it. I glanced down at the piece of paper in my hand and let out a sigh in frustration. Her description and the S tattooed on her wrist marked her as my target. She was the one I had to kill.

I walked away before she could turn around and see me again. Even though I felt an instant attraction towards her, I make it a habit to never associate with my targets before the kill. It only makes the job harder.

I headed back towards the train station doors and walked outside into the blinding sunlight. I stepped to the side and threw on the sunglasses that were clinging to my shirt. I could really use a cigarette right about now. I pulled out a pack and my lighter from my jean pockets and lit one. I inhaled deeply and puffed out the smoke, feeling calm immediately. Now, all I have to do is wait.

A few minutes later, the girl pushed the door open and walked outside with that man in tow. She waltzed towards her car and I crushed my cigarette underneath my foot before following her from a distance. She finally stopped a couple of rows back and opened the trunk to a maroon Honda civic. The man placed his suitcase in the trunk and slammed it closed a little too hard. She shot him a glare and moved towards the driver's side door.

I took the opportunity to write down her license plate and make and model just in case I needed it later. When they were both inside the car, I casually walked by and quickly placed a small, sticky tracker underneath the back of her car.

I headed back towards my rental car and unlocked the doors. Inside, I opened up my laptop and waited for it load up. I turned on the tracker and watched while the dot on the screen moved quickly away from the train station. As the car's location blinked brightly in the middle of the screen, I started up the car and pulled out of the parking lot.

Let the hunt begin.
