Once upon a time, a woman was running as fast as she could. She wasnt running for her life, though.
She was running for the child that grew in her belly, running for what would be no good.
The thing advanced towards her, not realising the state she was in.
She screamed. "Not my baby!"The thing stopped and watched her belly intently.
"Ba-bee?" The creature asked, dumbfounded.
"Y-yes. Please dont hurt my baby."Suddenly, the woman went into labor. Must have been the pressure.
To her surprise, the creature helped her successfully deliver her daughter. But she was suspicious. Why hadn't it just killed her, and gotten it over with?
As if reading her thoughts, it said:
"I will let you live, but on one condition."
She started quaking with fear.
"W-what?""You'll give me your child when she comes of age."
The woman thought for a moment. Would she really let this creature have her baby?
"I will not hurt her, either." The creature attempted to calm the new mother down, by lying."Deal."
~Present day~
"Woah." My best friend said, bemused. "Your mom tells you the best horror stories."
I shrugged. "Sure. Anyway, popcorn?"
He grinned as I held the bowl out to him. "My favourite!" He dipped his hand into the bowl, drawing out a clump of the sweet stuff.
He stuffed it all into his mouth.
Cassidy, our other friend, came out of the kitchen. She was holding a bag of chips.
"Woo, go Cass." I pumped a hand into the air. Those were my fave chips, and she knew it.
Tonight was horror movie night, and we were situated on Cass's couch, eating popcorn and now some chips.
Did I mention they were my favourite?
She sat next to me on my right, producing the remote from her pocket.
"So that's where the remote went."
I said, curtly.
She didn't reply, but promptly pressed the 'play' button.
We were watching Childs Play, and it seemed like nearly every jump scare scared me.
Bill (Ayy, our boi Skarsgard :3), was sat on my left, not even jumping or screaming like us.
Like he wasnt scared of anything.
"Hey, Bill?" I whispered. "Can I talk to you?"
He nodded, smiling at me. A woman onscreen screamed.
"How are you not scared of anything?"
He shrugged. "I'm just not."
"Okay."
"Hey lovebirds, are you paying attention to the movie?" Cass said, sounding gruff.
I suddenly felt groggy and I wanted to go home and crawl into bed. It probably wouldn't matter if my lil sibling Jess was already there, possibly in a state of undress. Damn 4 year olds.
"Actually, I'm gonna call it a night. Mind if I take the chips?"
She clutched the bag closer to her chest.
"Try me, bish."
I giggled. But I didnt reach for the bag like I normally would.
"See ya, kiddies."
We called each other different forms of child. It all began when Bill called us 'the immature youth' and it stuck.
"Wait wait, you're seriously leaving me with Cass?" He said her name like it was a dirty word. Cass groaned. They really didn't get on, but I brought our friendship together, and tied it off with a neat bow.
"Oh well, you better come with me. Anyway, I need someone to walk me home cos it's dark and scary and you're sooo stro-" I was flattering Bill, using a baby voice.
"Say no more." he smiled and stood up.
"God, get a room. You're practically making out." Cass took the empty couch as an opportunity to stretch out and get comfy, hitting the pillow beneath her. Knowing her, she was probably imagining it was Bill, and she was finally beating him up.
"Oh, whatever." Bill rolled his eyes and we left. Cass gave us a small motionless wave from the couch, desperate to rid of us.
