Junior Year.
{Harley's P.O.V.}
I was putting the rest of my stuff in my bag and getting ready to leave for the bus... This was it... my first day at my new school.
I was incredibly nervous. I hated being the new kid, and I hated knowing that I was most likely going to be the only new kid in my class full of people who had most likely known each other for 2 years before that if not longer. Why did dad have to get a new job? This would only have happened to me.
Last night I barely slept thinking about how awful today was going to be. I was dreading beginning this school year. I wish summer could have just lasted forever.
"Harley! Come on downstairs! I made breakfast, and you're gonna have to catch the bus soon!", my mother yelled.
The only thing that could possibly get me through this year was my family. I loved my family... more than anything in the entire world.
My mother... her name is Karen... weird, right? With a name like Karen you'd expect her to be the worst kind of person ever.. but not her, she was kind, loving, and supportive.
My father Jesse was the exact same way, loving, compassionate, but he was just a liiiiiittle over protective. Like last time I guy took me out on a date, my dad walked up to him, got up in his face and told him that if he ever broke my heart, he'd break his kneecaps.... needless to say he loves and cares for me.
Lastly, there's my older brother Riley. He lives on his own, with his girlfriend. He's a great older brother, and I love him to death, but I hardly ever see him.
I grabbed my bag and headed down the stairs into the kitchen where m father and mother were both sitting at the table conversing about something I couldn't hear, partially because I was too busy thinking about how I was going to come up with some elaborate reason why I wouldn't be able to continue school.
"Hey, there he is!", my dad exclaimed, once he had seen me enter the kitchen.
I gave him a half smile, still thinking of how to get out of this year.
"Nervous for your first day?", my mom asked knowing the answer was yes.
"No.", I lied.
My mother smiled knowing I was lying and gestured me to sit down at the table with them.
"Don't worry, I know today will be great, there's no need to be worried.", she said reassuringly.
"Well, we won't know that for sure until today's over.", I said half sarcastically.
"Oh please, this year's gonna be great and you know it.", my dad said as he pat my back, and got ready to leave for work.
"Here, I made french toast. Your father and I have to get going, but we'll be home before you are so you can tell us all about your great first day!", my mother smiled.
I rolled my eyes, "Bye. Love you two.", I waved goodbye to the both of them.
"Bye hun!", "See ya later my boy!", they both said as they left the house.
3 minutes.... 3 minutes until I have to board that vehicle on the highway to hell.
There's no way this year is going to be any good...
