Alphis has been an interest of mine for some time now. He was such a sweet boy, and he looked so gorgeous bruised. The first I saw him my heart melted. I've learned everything about him since our first encounter. I was on the streets, once again. No place to call home, no friends to turn to, and no money. I had nothing but the clothes on my back and people wouldn't dare look my direction. I'd sit outside on the sidewalk for hours, unnoticed to the parasites that filled this earth. Not once did any of them ever stop to help me.
Then came along Alphis. He was a pleasantly plump, blonde boy with big glasses and a sweater that reached past his chubby thighs. He was still in high school at the time. Every time he walked past me he'd drop a few bucks into my hand and wish me a lovely day.
He was so stupidly optimistic. I was homeless, how good of a day could I have? Every day on his way home he'd check on me. He'd ask if I had bough food with the money he spared me. I'd nod and he'd go on his way. He always tried to get me to talk but at the time I was naive, I didn't think he was worth my time. How foolish could I have been? He was worth every breath I will ever have, right down to the final one.
On August third I had been beaten ruthlessly by a group of teenagers. By now, Alphie had become dear to me. He was the only one who showed me kindness and against my better judgement I allowed myself to get attached to him.
On August third everything went as usual. He gave me money on his way to school, but he never made his way back. I worried. I staggered my way in the direction of the only school in this god forsaken town and found a few teenagers outside smoking. I was anxious.
Was I really going to ask these kids about a boy I barely knew? What was his name again? Alpha? Ellie? Lis? God what fucking was it.
"Hey, you want something?"
I hadn't realized I had zoned out, I must have been starring at them for the duration of my trip off Earth.
"Sorry, I was looking for somebody. Uh, he's blonde, glasses, kinda chunky?"
The leader of the group rolled his eyes and sneered at me.
"Do you wanna give us a name, bum?"
Great. He's an asshole. I racked my brain trying to remember. Al...Alfs...Alphie? Alphie!
"Uh, Alphie. His name is Alphie."
The boys laughed as if I had told the funniest joke of our time. They inched closer to me, a horridly slow pace that made my heart speed up.
"You hanging with Alphie? That's too good. Fat bitch would have to make friends with the neighbourhood trash."
Now I was use to being degraded, but Alphie? He was too good for them to speak of like that. He was sweet, and kind. He was gorgeous, plump or not. I felt protective. I wasn't entirely sure why but I found myself stepping closer to the kid, instead of backing down.
"Don't talk about him like that. Just tell me if you know where he is."
"Faggot is probably getting his ass stuffed in the locker rooms. Piss off dude."
The kid went to turn away but I was already seeing red. The words had been said and the damage done. The next thing I remember is punching the kid before his group pulls me off and throw me to the ground. Multiple kicks and punches, it had happened so quickly and I sort of deserved it. I did not calculate the chances. I didn't even think.
