The Infinity Train

A peaceful silence, only broken by the rhythmic lapsing of the heavy train wheels upon the track outside permeated the train-cars of the Infinity Train, soft snores heard throughout as the passengers all engaged in deep sleep.

(Y/N)'s chest slowly rose and fell as he took quiet breaths, his eyes shut as his head fell to the side, over Tanjiro's, the younger Kamado in a similar state of rest as he slept against (Y/N)'s arm, Nezuko's box placed neatly beside him as the two slept across from Rengoku, who had his arms crossed as he leant back against the seating.

Parallel to the four, Inosuke and Zenitsu slept silently on the other side of the train, Zenitsu quietly sleeping peacefully whereas Inosuke was completely strewn about, kicking out momentarily as heavy snores rang through the area.

All was peaceful.

...

Heavy footsteps quickly approached as the interconnecting train door slid open, the Conductor quickly sprinting across the train as the passengers slept soundly.

Within moments, the Conductor arrived at a new train car, throwing himself onto his knees as tears began to run down his aged face.

"I did as I was told! I punched their tickets and put them to sleep! Please! Put me to sleep, too, now!" The Conductor begged as he kowtowed in the open train car, not drawing any attention from the peaceful passengers.

"Please let me be reunited with my dead wife and daughter! Please! Please...! Please..." The man begged into open air, yet a strange presence lurked.

For a moment, only silence met his pleas.

"Sure thing." A strange voice came to his reply.

A sickening splatter erupted through the area, the Conductor raising his head to see a dismembered hand wiggle to life before him, before taking onto its fingers as a mouth formed on the back of its palm, two eyes staring at him from the sides.

"You did a good job. Have a good dream." The hand's mouth twisted into a sick smile, the Conductor's eyes lighting up.

"Go to sleep." The disembodied hand spoke out, the Conductor seeming to spasm before falling flat upon the ground, his eyes hazy and unfocused, in a state of eternal slumber.

"Have a nice dream where you can meet your family." The hand bid it's sinister farewell.

"Excuse us..." A voice suddenly whispered from behind the hand, drawing its attention.

"What do you want us to do?" The hand turned to see its entourage, five people kneeling down upon the train floor, the only awakened within the traincar.

"Their slumber will grow deeper in a little while. Wait here until then. Some especially perceptive Demon Hunters sometimes wake up when sending the presence of bloodthirsty demons. When you tie their ropes, do be careful to not touch their bodies. I'll have to stay in the first car for a while. Hang on until everything is ready...then you can all have peaceful dreams." The disembodied hand brought forth promise of a better life, one that the listeners were all too eager to receive.

"Okay."

(Y/N)'s hand twitched as he slept peacefully, his eyelids seeming to twitch for a moment, before all returned to peace.

"Hyah!" The boy slashed forward, faint snow falling around him as shouts rang through the skies, a massive snowy courtyard taking to life as a young girl hummed to herself, sitting elegantly beneath one of stretches of the engawa, watching over the boy.
