Lucy's POV
I guess I never realized it but I must have fallen asleep. The dry tears stained my eyes and cheeks. I guess I should go apologize to Gramps, I mean it wasn't his fault that he didn't know.

I gloomy walked down the stairs. I saw a few students but I didn't care what they saw me like.

I knocked. "Gramps, it's me Lucy. May I come in?" I asked him. He's probably still upset about the news.

I heard a whispered, "Sure," almost complete silence.

"Lucy, h-how old were you when-" he cut himself off as I sat down, seeing the state of me.

"Seven. I was only seven, and Father he-" I got a sudden rush of fear come over me just saying 'Father'.

"Did he do something to you?" He asked in worry.

"Um, well," I pulled up my sleeves. Scars was all you could see. His eyes opened in shock. I thought it was best not to tell him I still cut my legs.

And yes I am a cutter. I know that it isn't right. Not that it hurts me anymore, it just tells me that my mothers death wasn't a dream.

"WHAT! Can you tell me what exactly happened to you mother?" Gramps asked me.

I nodded in replay. "It started on a sunny day in January."

Natsu's POV
I woke up realizing that school started today. I groaned. "Ugh! Why!" I shouted at my pillow.

Wait! We have late start. Apparently we have a new student. Haven't had one in years! Actually, why would you transfer your last year of high school anyway? It doesn't make any sense.

I slowly got dressed and made my way down stairs. I grabbed some bread and headed out the door, deciding to go to the cafe. I said bye to Wendy, my younger sister, and my dad, Igneel. Mom was on a business trip.

Walking down the street, I saw a girl with average long blonde hair running her way past me. She had our school uniform. 'Must be a Freshman,' I though to myself.

I ran into Gray, my enemy, half way to the cafe.

We opened the door with a jingle, and Lisanna greeted us with a smile as always. Since her sister works at the front desk at school, she works the cafe.

"Hey Natsu, Gray, how's it going?" She questioned.

"It's great Lisanna," I responded with a genuine smile. She blushes slightly, feeling embarrassed. I liked that about her.

"Did you here about the new girl? I heard she's pretty hot," Ice Sculpture said.

"Do ya know what she looks like?" I asked.

"I heard she's a blonde. Oh no! We're going to be late!" Lisanna said, puzzled.

"Let's hurry guys. Gramps said he wanted to see Ice Princess and I before school," I said.

"I'll catch up with you guys later. You go on ahead," She responded.

We ran down the street like maniacs.

We reached school and held our knees catching our breath.

"We made it," I said inbetween breaths.

I stood up and walked into school. I headed to my locker.

While passing, the girl with blonde hair I saw earlier looked horrible. I'd never seen anything worse.

She'd been crying. I could tell. Wonder what happened.

She walked into Gramps's office, mumbling to herself as she passed.
Poor thing.

"WHAT!" Was all I heard from the office. I decided to leave it at that and continue walking.

Finished putting my books away, I walked to Gramps's office.

Lucy's POV
"and that's what happened," I said.

Gramps stood up and looked out the window in deep thought.

I just looked down gripping my skirt. He probably hates me now.

"Lucy," he started, going in for a hug. I slapped his arms away. I accidentily hit a picture frame, it falling to the ground.

Natsu's POV
I walked with my hands in my pocket thinking this is going to be an intersting year.

I heard a crashing sound come from Gramps's office. I ran over.

Third Person POV
"I don't want fake love given to me like everyone else, including Father!" Lucy shouted at Makarov.

The door opened to reveal a handsome looking man with pink, spiky, messy hair come in.

"Gramps, is everything alright. I thought I-" he stopped as soon as he saw blood in Lucy's hands. She was picking up the glass like it was paper, cutting herself all over.

"You're such a fool to think that you act like you love me when you don't. Man, pethetic. I hate when people pity and try to comfort me. It was my fault so why don't you understand that Gii-chan!" Lucy shouted. She cried again, continuing to pick up the glass.

"Lucy I didn't know and I do love you. No matter what you say," he responded.

"Om, hey are you alright, L-Lucy?" Natsu asked, hesitating to say her name.

"Natsu, there is nothing to worry about but, please take care of my granddaughter. She is in all of your classes so if you could show her around I would really appreciate it." Makarov said with a fake smile.

Natsu not wanting to cause any trouble grabbed Lucy's hand and dragged her the nurse's office. "I'm Natsu Dragneel by the way. You're Lucy, correct," he said. All she did was nod and slightly smile.
