A thin trail of blood dripped behind Adam as he ran around corner after corner looking for somewhere to go. The alleys were like a maze and if he got lost in them he'd probably be lost forever. Despite knowing that, he continued to make his way through the alley, trying to get as far away from Leo as he could.
"Are you looking for somewhere to hide?" A charming, disembodied voice asked. Adam paused where he was and turned around to see a man with medium brown skin and very bright, almost glowing red eyes staring at him from the shadows. Adam hid his bloody hand behind his back but the stranger had already seen it.
"You're quite the sloppy killer." The man noted. Adam let his hand fall loosely to his side realizing there was no need to hide it.
"Who are you?" Adam asked. The stranger stepped out of the shadows with a cheshire grin on his face.
"People around here call me the demon of the alleys, but my proper name is Aunhile." The demon bowed deeply and Adam smirked.
"Aunhile? Demon? You look pretty weak to me." Adam commented. Aunhiles smile dropped as he stared at Adam.
"You'd do well to watch your tongue." He hissed. Adam crossed his arms but even as he did, something was telling him not to fight this stranger. Adam said nothing as a minute rolled by but finally Aunhile spoke again.
"I need a favor from you." Aunhile stated as he held a piece of paper out to Adam.
"Its a list of names..." Adam observed. There were 3 names on the list. Jamie Keel, Angela Pelk, and Tony Dillinger.
"Yes. I need you to kill them." Aunhile said. Adams eyes rose to meet the eyes of Aunhile who was staring intently at him.
"I dont work for others." Adam mumbled. Aunhile laughed in amusement.
"I will reward you greatly if you do." Aunhile persisted with a playful grin.
"I have more than enough money, Aunhile." Adam commented back. A mysterious gleam appeared behind Aunhiles eyes as that smile apread across his face once more.
"I wasnt talking about money." Aunhile smirked.
"Oh, I see. So this is supposed to be one of those deals where I sell my soul, to you who claims to be a demon, so I can get some magical ass powers, right?" Adam scoffed.
"Yes. But instead of your soul I want you to kill these people." Aunhile nodded honestly.
"If you're a demon why can't you do it?" Adam questioned. He didn't really believe this guy was a demon, but it wasn't everyday he met such a strange person. Aunhile furrowed his brows.
"Lower class demons are not allowed to kill humans due to... a recent change in management..." Aunhile spoke the last words as he spaced out, obviously recollecting some bad memory. Adam stared silently at him until he snapped out of his trance.
"Oh- yes, for the completion of this task, I shall give you the powers of a low class demon." Aunhile stated. Adam crossed his arms with an eyebrow raised. The powers of a demon? Even if it was a low class demon it would still be stronger than a human, right?
"Only the simple ones like strength and speed, and whatever else your human body can handle." He finished.
"How do I know it's true?" Adam asked, thinking how great it would be to be stronger. Aunhile grabbed Adams wrist and held it tightly in his hands.
"Humor me. Do you accept these conditions?" Aunhile asked. Adam nodded with some hesitation and Aunhile instantly pulled a knife out of this pocket and began carving into Adams skin.
