The howling of untamed wild creatures filled the ocean-like forest. The moon was bright that night, luring the wolves out of their dens to play. An eerie chant-like howl started among the wolves as an elegant woman clothed in silver and black emerged from the bright moonlight wrapped in a shroud of pure glory.
Her yellow eyes glinted like flint in a menacing and nefarious way, but softened as she saw her subjects. Her posture was prim and proper, the significance of a ruler. The woman's graceful stride was close in relation to the the long strides of a wolf running after its prey. She swept her head around in a long arch, taking her gaze over her loyal friends; the wolves.
The elder wolves were bowed to the ground in a sign of respect. A small pup wandered up to the woman out of curiosity. She, the wolf godess, knelt to the ground in front of the wolf pack. She bowed her head and let out a guttural growl. She snapped her head up with her wolf-like eyes flashing with an unnatural bioluminescent light.
The light whirled in the deep pools of gold, seemingly leaking out in tiny strands of fragile light. The glowing lines of swirling gold wrapped around the woman, snaking their way mystically up into the air. They continued covering her in a graceful ballet until she could not be seen.
Inside of the golden cloud, a great change was taking place. The woman's golden brown eyes enlarged as her slender face elongated into a broad snout. Her hands clenched into fists, her slender fingers bonding and shortening to form sturdy paws. An echoing howl resounded from her now canine throat as her bones hunched into the shape of a wolf. Her silvery black robes melded into her skin, taking the form of soft fur. The golden light faded, leaving the wolf goddess panting on the ground.
A congratulatory barking was stirred up among the wolf pack, a welcome for their queen. The queen howled the call for a hunt. It was taken up by the pack like dust in a storm. Thundering of many paws upon the damp forest floor soon reverberated through the trees.
The hunt was on.
