Both my body and mind froze as warm lips connected with mine. But just as the pressure was there, it was quickly taken away. A breath passed my lips as I stared up at Maverick who was looking down at me with the same expression. Hesitation and...surprise. We were still only a few inches away from each other and stood for a moment just watching the other's reaction. And I don't know what possessed me to do what I did in the moment. Maybe it was his bold action. Maybe it was the way my lips felt cold after he moved away. Maybe it was because of the tingles that shot through my body when he touched me.
But something made me step forward and slowly place my hands on his shoulders, bending him down towards me, my eyes locked on his. I couldn't read his expression, but I didn't care. It was too late. He started it. And hell, I was going to finish it.
I pressed my lips against his with purpose, wanting to feel that warmth again. And without realizing exactly what I had done, I ignited a fire.
Maverick returned with kiss with as much fervor and recklessness as I did. Our lips moved together as if they were having a fight that neither of us knew the cause of. My hands had moved up to his raven locks and tangled themselves within the softness, emitting a low growl in the back of Maverick's throat as I pulled slightly. In retaliation, he moved his lips away from mine and slowly trailed them down my neck making me whimper at the gentle brush of his touch. He kissed the spot at the crook of my neck before lightly biting it, making me gasp slightly at the temporary pain. I knew it would leave a mark in the morning, but I didn't care. His body felt hot against mine, and everywhere his lips went left a scorching trail in its wake.
His lips left my neck and suddenly I was staring into dark eyes. They were scorching every inch of me they fell upon. But I finally saw it.
Maverick was breathing a little heavier and his hair was ruffled from where my hands had tussled with it. But his eyes gave him away. The intensity burned bright but there was this raw need...desire that made my knees weaker the longer I stared into them. I affected him.
I couldn't help but smirk.
He didn't like that very much.
Attacking my lips, he pushed me backwards against the nearest tree. I gasped at the impact and felt his hands grip my hips at the sound. We were pressed so tightly against each other I couldn't breathe let alone move. It was a war and neither of us seemed to be gaining the upper hand. Or maybe neither of us really wanted to.
I mean, winning also means stopping.
I ran my one hand through his hair, gripping it at the roots while my other hand clutched his t-shirt in its grip. His hands were traveling between my hips and lower back and noticeably going lower and lower each time.
I couldn't think. All I could do was feel. Feel his lips on mine, his muscles taunt under my hands, and the burning sensation that his touch left all over my body. I couldn't get over it. It was consuming me.
Maverick continued to press further and further against me, causing my back to dig against the tree. I moaned from the impact but also the feel of his body against mine.
Hearing the sound of pleasure, Maverick pulled back looking down at me with dark hooded eyes, eyes filled with heat and desire.
He slowly brought his hand up to rest on the tree next to my head, while the other one rested at the base of my neck slowly applying pressure.
My body was on fire.
But nothing could compare to the devilish smirk that slowly twisted on Maverick's lips as he leaned down to gently trace his lips against my jawline causing my whole body to shiver.
