As I turn around to face him my brown hair swings around in such a way that it reminds me of those movies where in slow-mo the girl turns, hair twirling, and see's the man of her dreams running towards her. He then picks her up, spins her around, and finally gives her the most romantic kiss.
Only this was time there was no slow-mo and the guy I was turning to definitely was not the man of my dreams. Additionally, I was not, in a million years, going to kiss him.
This man, or I should say immature boy, has been asking me out continuously, but his unwavering determination did nothing to sway me in my decision against it.
"Hey babe, wait up!" Emerson screamed as he sprinted down the hall straight towards me. As he said this I could see all the eyes in the hallway turn their burnin gaze upon me.
This was totally embarrassing. I did not like having him chase me, people staring, or let alone having to talk to him. Then there was the ghastly idea that he was allowed to call me babe, and in front of people nonetheless. I was a shy, introvert type person, however, it was not my shyness that made me not want to talk to him.
"What do you want this time?" I asked him this with as much sound of annoyance in my voice as humanly possible. "And stop calling me babe."
"I wanted to give you more reasons about how going out with me is beneficial. One example is your status in the social circle would rise up higher."
"You think your pathetic reasons are going to make me go out with you? I don't give a rip about my status, I could care less actually. For the last time I'm not going out with you."
"But why?" He did such a horrible job at pouring and the whining was so bad that it put me in an even worse mood.
"You want to know why? I'll tell you why. All you care about is yourself and things that you can get. You think you're so great, when you are just like everyone else. You're so rich that you think everyone should bow down at your feet and you don't give a snitzel about someone less fortunate than you. You hang out with populars and discard those you don't. You are rude, unkind, and immature; what makes that worse is you don't mind and have no desire to change. However, the thing that most repulsed me is that the only reason you want it date me, is because of my body. I want a guy who is going to want me for me, my personality and beauty on the inside, not the way I look in skinny jeans. Unless, by some miracle, you change those things, I won't be going out with you, EVER!"
I do not wait for him to respond, instead I turn around and leave him there with his mouth hanging open looking like an idiot. If I had not left so suddenly I might have heard what he said underneath his breath.
"I'll become good for you. I'll become everything you every wanted, and more. I will show you that I am worthy of you."
