As we landed in Clyde Bay, I felt a new presence in the back of my mind. Gazing out at the crowd that had formed I wondered who this Thomas boy would be. Jumping down off of Aurora's back, I felt her tense.

"Aurora and Torren, keep your eyes out for any strange movements."

Yes, great one.

Making my way to William who stood beside Zor with his left hand resting on his sword, he seemed to be smiling out at the crowd. Around us, many people had begun to flock, with some climbing onto huts to get a better view of what was happening.

With a deep breath, I felt my fingers twitch to grab my bow. It was my first time being out on the field and seeing other villagers who once thought me to be dead. As I continued to carefully watch each person who had gathered, a small boy to my left caught my eyes.

With dirt-covered skin, old tattered clothes, and no shoes, the young boy stood there with a sad-looking expression. He was skinny and looked to have not eaten for many weeks. Making my way towards him, I noticed a few villagers gaze at me questionably.

Taking off my blue cloak, I carefully wrapped it around the young boy. It was too cold outside to be with the little clothing he had on, and I could only pray he wouldn't get sick. Fastening the clasp around his neck I felt his little hands touch my cheek.

"Thank you." He whispered.

Smiling, I nodded. "Where are your parents?" at my question the boy frowned.

"A scary rogue killed them." Tears rolled down his cheeks at the memory. Nodding, I gently touched his cheek. "You need to be strong. You are a true warrior for staying alive."

A small smile graced his lips at my words. "I'm a warrior?" The way his eyes seemed to shine at the thought had a bright smile gracing my lips.

"Of course. You managed to fight the rogue and still live. Only a true warrior could do that."

Gently taking the boy from my arms, an elderly lady smiled down at me. "You have just made this boy very happy. Thank you."

"Abagail." Came a sudden voice.

Turning to the sound of the voice, William and the other riders stood with stern faces. Each one of them seemed to be on edge and I didn't blame them. After everything that had happened, I too could feel the tension in the air. With a final glance at the old lady, I made my way to William. As I stopped by his side, I felt the back of my hand gently touch his.

Stepping forward, William squared his shoulders. "Thank you all for gathering on such short notice."

Turning to one of the riders, I took my bow he had taken from Aurora. Clenching the bow tighter in my hands, I listened to William's voice. "Some of you might be unsure as to why we are here... The reason for our visit is to collect the new Dragon Rider."

Shocked and happy murmurs filled the area. It saddened me that I hadn't gotten this welcome a few years ago, yet I was glad they were still happy that another rider was found.

"Abagail." Turning my attention back to William, I noticed his outstretched hand waiting for me. Taking his hand I was gently tugged to his side. "Call forth the new rider, Great One."

Swallowing the lump in my throat, I rested my gaze on the villagers. "Thomas Bridgeholm."

Shocked gasps echoed around us.
