Once upon a time, there was a small village in Carnvel. There lived many poor people. Most of them were farmers. After a distance there was a palace. In that lived a king named Hanry Makon. He ruled the village.
One day a farmer was in a problem. To solve the problem he was going to the king. On the way to the palace he had to pass a forest. The forest was very deep and calm. A path went through the forest. He was alone. It was night at that time. He was wearing a beautiful watch on his wrist but his clothes were dirty.
On the way, he found a river. He thought to himself to wash his face, so that he feels bit refreshed as he walked a long way. When he was washing his face, he saw his reflection in the water. He was thinking, "Oh! How sad! My clothes are very dirty. My legs are very thin and dirty. They look very ugly. But my watch is very beautiful and shiny. It is gorgeous and praiseworthy." He again started his journey. After walking a little bit, he heard a wolf growing. He felt something behind him. When he looked back he saw a wolf was coming towards him. It was very big and strong. Seeing it he rushed into the forest. The wolf was also following him. He went deeper and deeper. It was a bright night. He looked around him. The wolf was not to be seen. Then he saw the wolf. It was very ferocious and looking for him. He found a cave and got inside it. The wolf was just outside the cave. But it could not see him as it was very dark in the cave.
After some time the wolf went away. So he went outside. But the wolf actually didn't go away. It was over the cave. The wolf came down. He again quickly went inside the cave. The wolf was looking inside the cave. It was very dark in the cave. Suddenly his watch shined due to the reflection of moonlight. The wolf saw it. When the wolf got near to him he was shivering in fear. There was no way to escape. The wolf saw him and ate him up. So the poor farmer died on the way to palace. Everyone in his family was worried about him. His body was not found anymore.
From this story we can say that "All that glitter is not gold." He was sad about his legs which helped him to run fast and escape from the ferocious wolf. But he was proud of his beautiful and shiny watch which shined and he was caught.
