As I sat down on the couch Mom's face just filled up with more sadness. I just wondered what she had to tell me so urgently. Maybe she is dating again or maybe she got fired. I knew that it sounded very serious.
Mom sat down on the same couch that I was sitting on. I just couldn't take it any more.
"Mom, what is it that you want to tell me?" I asked. But she didn't answer. She just held out her hand and gave me a bracelet with alluminating sapphires.
" Mom it's beautiful. Is this what made you so sad? " I asked. Mom still kept still as she looked towards me with eyes full of tears.I have never seen her like this and I felt very helpless as I couldn't comfort her.
" You're a ...."she got interrupted by her phone ringing in the distance.
"I'll be right back" she said. I noticed there was a letter on the table near the couch on the edge of the wooden four legged table. Mom came back after answering the phone.
"Anya what you're about to hear is very important and you shouldn't freak out, okay?" she said with a very serious face.
Oh my god, did someone die or was about to die?
"Well...that depends on the news you're about to tell me." I said with the most serious voice I could master.
" Okay I'll break this to you gently" she said as she took a deep breath and continued.
"You were adopted from a orphanage when you were a baby and this was the only thing your parents left you with" she said.
My mind and heart shattered like a glass that had been dropped from a hundred floor building.
" I was...a...dopted..."I stuttered as I tried to process all this news.
"Anya I'm sorry you had to find out this way." she said with the most apologetic voice, trying not to release the tears that were at the corner of her deep chocolate brown coloured eyes.
"Is that letter that's on the table from my real parents?" I said as tears escaped from my emerald coloured gems.
"No, it's from your grandmother she has something important to tell you about your parents and the sapphire wristband."she said.
She took the letter from the table and handed it to me.
