𝙷𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚗 ~ a reddie story

Eddie woke up to the sound of
loud knocks at his bedroom door, "Eddie bear, it's 8:30am! Your cousins are getting here in an hour, get up!," Sonia yells as she tries to wake her son up. Eddie groans and put his hand on top of his forehead, he lets out a long exhale, not wanting to get out of bed nor see his cousins.

Eddie gets up slowly as he puts his feet onto the warm carpet. He walks to his door half awake and opens it to the smell of pancakes. This is new he thinks to himself, ma never makes pancakes. "Mommy?," he says, peaking out of his door frame. "Yes Eddie dear," Sonia says, as she flips the last pancake. "Are you making pancakes," he says stepping out of the door frame, as he walks down stairs to the kitchen where his mother is. She looks at him with a devilish eye "have you taken your medicine Eddie bear? if you haven't, you aren't getting some," Eddie looks at her and kisses her cheek "I will now ma," he sighs and walks back up to his room, he walked slowly since he couldn't be bothered walking back up the stairs.

He walks in his room and closes the door behind him. Eddie looks around, he was quite happy with the way his room looked, since he recently moved to Derry. He has his double bed with baby blue sheets with two matching pillows. The other two pillows were a pastel yellow with cute little flowers that
were white. He couldn't sleep with only two pillows, four pillows made him feel safe, it made him feel like he wasn't alone. He has his own bathroom which made him feel more comfortable. He doesn't like sharing with other people, especially his own mother. The last time he shared a bathroom with his mother, in his old house, it was very dirty. Hair products everywhere, pills scattered around the sink. He couldn't even explain how dirty his old bathroom was. Yes, Eddie is a huge germophobe, He'll never let a single hand touch anything in his room unless the hand's cleaned and sanitised.

He sighs as he walks to his nightstand, he opens the draw and takes out a bunch of pills. He gets the empty glass cup on his nightstand from the last time he took his pills and went to the bathroom.

Eddie fills up the glass and turns off the sink. He looks up at himself in the mirror he had in his bathroom. He didn't like what he saw. He always hated the way he looked, his body figure, his face structure, everything. He quickly looks away and walks back to his room. He sits down on his bed and takes them one by one, gagging after taking the 5th one. By the last one he felt like he was going to vomit. he never knew why but his medicine will always make him want to vomit. He didn't think about it too much, he thought it was normal. He put all of the medicine back in the draw and closes it slowly.

He gets up and walks to his wardrobe, it was quite big but Eddie didn't mind. He opens it to reveal all his tops, sweaters, hoodies, jeans, and his only pair of red shorts. He pulls out the shorts and a yellow polo shirt. He closes the wardrobe and undresses avoiding the stand up mirror in his room. He puts on the clothes he picks out and wears some white lace up shoes. Eddie goes to the bathroom once again to brush his teeth and comb his hair to the side. He quickly runs down stairs to meet his cousins sitting around the dinner table, Sonia was sitting at the end of the table watching the kids. There was a little girl laughing at a boy while eating Sonia's pancakes. Eddie rolls his eyes. Why aren't their parents here? He thought. "Hey Mommy, why aren't their parents here?" Eddie says, "oh! We're babysitting them for the next few days,"
What the hell! "Ma, you never told me this!" Eddie raised his voice a bit, realising what he just did, he quickly apologised before his mother comments on his manners. She looked at him and gave that devilish look again, oh how Eddie hates that look. "Since you gave me that attitude, Halloween's on Tuesday, you're going with the little kids," Sonia says, and looks at the kids. Eddie looks at the kids, with a concerned look. "okay ma, I'll go with them," Eddie looks down at the wooden floor. "Come here," Sonia tells the little kids, the kids some running towards Sonia and Eddie. Eddie looks down at the little kids, Eddie chuckled because they looked so innocent. "Eddie bear is going to take you guys to that little party shop down the road to go get costumes for Halloween," the children gasped loudly, they started to squeal. Eddie rolled his eyes and looked at his mother who had a fake smile on her face, she looked at Eddie and the smile disappeared. "Here," Sonia puts her hand in the pockets of her jeans and give him 20 dollars to go spend on themselves. "Eddie, dear, buy yourself a costume too," Eddie takes the money and kisses his mothers cheek. He walks over to the front door and signals the kids to come over. They go running to him.

"Be careful Eddie bear," Sonia yells as they leave, "We will Ma," Eddie yelled back. They walked to the small party store near their house, it's 10:26am and Eddie wanted to be in bed. They're all holding hands the way there and Eddie hates it. It took at least 10 minutes to walk there.

They make it there and the kids run in, Eddie walks in after noticing the teenage boy resting his head in his arms. Eddie couldn't help but analyse the boy. He's wearing glasses with thick frames, his hair was really curly, Eddie thought it was cute. He's wearing a black t-shirt with a name tag that says 'Richard' Eddie chuckled to himself and didn't realise he was staring. "You good?" The boy said as he took his head out of his hands and stood up properly. Eddie shook his head as a small pale pink blushed creeped on his face. "O-oh I'm so sorry, I d-didn't mean to," Eddie says with a stutter. "I'm Richie, what's yours love?" Love?!?? Did he just call me love? "Oh-oh mines Eddie," Eddie calmed down a bit after the little staring he did, but he did still have the little blush on his face, it was very noticeable.

The kids come running back to Eddie with costumes. "I want this  one!" The little girl says "I want this one" the little boy says, Eddie sighs and smiles. He kneels down to the kids height and pats them on their heads. "You got a handful huh?" Richie says while crossing his arms and smirking, "yeah," Eddie chuckles, Richie then realised something, he runs to the storage room which was located right behind the desk so he didn't take too long in there. "Ah ha! I found it," after waiting 5 minutes for Richie to come out of the room so they could pay, he runs out with a sailor costume, "you need a costume don't you?" Richie asks, "uhhh," Eddie was thinking about it until Richie interrupted him "anyways, it's on the house, all of it," Richie offers Eddie the sailor costume, "what? Why? That's so nice of you but I can't," Eddie says, "shut up and take it," Eddie grabs the sailor costume, "why a sailor costume?" Eddie asks Richie who was at the counter, "I think it'll look....... nice on you," Richie blushes at bit, Eddie smiled and nodded "thank you Richie, I appreciate it," Eddie smiles widely, "come back next time okay," Richie says and chuckles, "yeah okay Richie," Eddie laughs and gives Richie the 20 dollar note, "nO! I said it was on the house, now go!" Richie laughs and Eddie refuses "no take it seriously," Eddie seemed serious but Richie didn't care
