Melting Ice {TodoDeku}

Chapter One

Deku stared at the invite with disbelief. The torn envelope sat on the table in front of him. Todoroki sat across from him, silently watching.

Finally, Deku spoke. "Is this real?" he asked. Todoroki nodded.

"It's clearly written, I mean, it's here. And our classmates sent us this? I mean, that's okay, but-"

"Calm down," Todoroki mumbled. "It's only tonight. Nothing bad is going to happen, alright?"

"I know, but I'm just so excited! And scared. And nervous and-"

Todoroki placed his hand on Deku's. "If anything happens, I'll be there for you."

Deku smiled. "Thank you," he said. Tears starting welling up in his eyes.

"Why are you crying?"

Deku sniffed. "I-I'm just so happy... You're s-so nice to me..."

Todoroki smiled. "I swore on my life, remember? I have to protect you."

Deku pulled Todoroki into a hug. "I'm so glad I met you."

Todoroki wrapped his arms around Deku. They stayed silent for a while, until Todoroki replied, "Me too, Deku. Me too."

Deku's P.O.V.

It's been a while since I was sent the invite. Todoroki and I got prepared for anything that could happen at the party.

"Is that it?" I asked, looking at the bags. Something had told me that we were thinking a little overboard.

"Yes, I believe that is all," Todoroki responded. "We should head out now. The party is starting soon."

"R-right." I picked up my backpack and started towards the door. Todoroki followed.

We walked out to the car and got in. Todoroki started it. As we buckled our seatbelts, I asked, "You're sure we'll be okay?"

He sighed. "Yes, I'm positive. Nothing is going to happen. Trust me."

"Fine," I replied, looking out the window.

"Don't worry about it. It's only tonight, and it'll take some energy to have fun."

Well, he was right about the energy part.
