The slamming of heavy doors brought Anna awake. Her instinct was to bolt upright, but a large arm held her firmly down.
"Easy now." She heard the deep voice say.
The hairs on the back of Anna's neck stood on end. She turned her gaze slowly to meet the soldier's icy eyes, confirming it was him. Two other males- both Beta bustled around, hooking up IV's and pulling out medical supplies. A siren started to wail, making her jump as they sped off. They were in an ambulance she realized,  she was on a gurney in the back, her legs strapped down. Her stomach rebelled again, and she tried to push his arm off her chest, gagging. This time he let her go as she retched more blood into a bedpan one of the Beta medics held for her. The other took one of her arms, poking her with something that made her wince and try to pull away.
"Just some painkillers." He said calmly, pulling the needle out.

"And this will stop the vomiting for now." Anna pulled her hand away as he tried to insert another needle. He held her hand firmly and tried to do it again but she did the same thing. It was better to die from a bellyful of blood than whatever Oversight would do to her once she was healed.
"Alpha, can you please hold her still?"
The man reached out for her arm which she held tightly to her body. He easily pulled it away, not noticing her weak struggles against him. The Beta inserted an IV quickly, moving on to another needle, stabbing it into the meaty part of her leg, making her wince.
"A mild sedative.. to keep her from pulling out the IV." His voice sounded as though it was coming through a long tunnel, her weak body dragging her down as the sedatives took hold.
The Alpha watched her for a few minutes, letting her go once her eyes began to droop, dragging her down into unconsciousness once again.

The beeping of machines, the smell of formaldehyde and quiet whispers at the end of her bed were the first things Anna became aware of as her conscious came back. Her body screamed as though it had been run over by a truck.
"I ran the test three times... it came back conclusive."
"I need you to be 100% positive before I tell the officer."
"The test was run on multiple machines... I'm positive its not a system error."
A hard sigh filled the silence. "A 96...."
Anna shifted and couldn't help but groan, squinting her eyes open as she looked up at the white tiled ceiling.
"She's awake."
No shit... she wanted to mutter.
The older, Beta doctor opened her eyes one at a time, shining a bright light into them.
"I know...." He said in what he must have assumed was a soothing manner.
"We had to reduce your pain killers and sedative for a moment."
"There are a few questions we need you to answer." A fat, balding middle-aged man in a suit that was bulging at the seams approached her bed, calculation in his beady eyes.

"Then we can leave you in peace to heal." The smile on the man's face was meant to be kind, but it didn't reach his eyes.
"What is your name?" The doctor asked.
Anna didn't answer.
"Miss...." She turned her gaze to the fat man, narrowing her eyes, but not saying anything.
"How many hormones were you taking?"
Anna responded by forcing her screaming body to turn away from them.

She heard one of the men let out a sigh before the pair of them headed for the door and shutting it with a quiet snap. She could hear them discussing her just outside the door.
She fought against the fuzziness in her pounding head, trying to think. She needed to get out of here before they had decided what to do with her. It was the only way she was going to escape the grasp of Oversight.

A moment later the door opened again, and three sets of footsteps came towards her. A large figure knelt down into her line of vision, he was definitely an Alpha, bigger than the one before, with a more commanding presence.

"Miss, I need you to answer the doctor's questions," he said. She could feel pressure in the back of her skull as he said the words, instinctually making her want to submit.
"What is your name?" He purred.
She felt compelled to answer him but kept her jaw tightly clenched, defying his order.
His brow came down at her refusal.
"What dose of hormones were you taking?" He asked the pressure at the base of her skull increased. She bit her tongue until she tasted blood, but managed to resist his demand.
Anna had never experience an Alpha's control abilities before, but had seen them used by bored soldiers on Betas, making them bark like dogs... fight each other... dance in the middle of the street... all while the Alphas laughed.
Other Betas passing by coward away from them, hoping to remain unnoticed as they shot past, shooting remorseful glances towards the influenced Betas.
She had heard from the Opposition that certain Omegas had been seen resisting the same influence... but they had no way to test why certain ones were able to resist the influence. Anna prayed she was able to hold out against the man, hoping to buy herself time to escape.. or die from whatever damage the hormones were doing to her body.

"Go to hell." She hissed at the Alpha, glaring at him as her head throbbed.
The man looked at her with a hard expression, the beeping of the machines and the rush of medical staff on the other side of the door filled the uncomfortable silence. The doctor and beady eyed man shifted nervously, their gazes darting between her glare and the Alpha's almost curious expression. The Alpha looked her up and down, making her hackles rise as she bared her teeth at him. His eyebrows rose at the challenge, but his expression did not change as he turned back to the door. His combat boots thudding loudly on the floor as he made his way towards the exit.
"Keep her comfortable until we receive orders."
He opened the door and closed it with a slam, dismissing the men. It was not a discussion, he gave the orders, he expected them to be followed. Alphas led, Betas served.
The beady eyed man let out a long breath.
"That was incredible... I've never seen one of them resist like that." He said, shooting a glance over at Anna. She showed her teeth to him as well, the agitation sharpening her focus, adrenaline coursing through her body. The doctor nodded as he bustled around the room, drawing a needle out of a drawer on the far side of the room and filling it with a clear liquid. He came over to her bed. Anna tensed, but stayed still, watching the man as a plan came to her. It had a small chance of success... but it was better than lying here and waiting for whatever they were going to do to her next.
"You'll feel a small poke..." He murmured, leaning into her.
Just as he was about to insert the needle, Anna attacked. Grabbing the needle, she twisted it around with a jerk and jammed it hard into the man's neck and pushing down the plunger. Anna was moving before he even hit the ground, lunging for the beady eyed man who was reaching for a phone. She wrapped the chord around his neck, choking him to lessen his strength as she found the pressure point in his neck that knocked him unconscious, just like Opposition had taught her. He hit the floor with a thud, knocked out cold.

With shaking hands she pulled IV's and other medical equipment off of her, silencing the machines so they would not alert anyone. The Opposition had run so many tests on her in the past four years that she was familiar with most of the equipment they were using- at least enough that she knew how to make it shut up.
Having disconnected herself from the equipment, she made her way back over to the doctor, taking off his coat and shoes. Her clothes and shoes were no where to be seen, they had dressed her in a hospital gown so the doctors coat would have to do as a cover. Hopefully no one looked close enough at her to notice how big the robe was... or the shoes were on her feet. She tried to make her hair look presentable before grabbing his clip board and going to the door. Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself before wrenching it open. Two soldiers she didn't recognize stood outside, they glanced at her, but did not seem to know she was the patient they were supposed to be guarding. Relieved that they lived up to the Alpha's arrogant reputation, she kept her head down, pretending to read the clip board as she made her way down the hallway, using the doctors access card to open the stairwell door at the end. She dashed down the stairs, heart in her throat as she prayed no one would see her. She made it to the bottom, and pushed through the emergency exit door, praying the fire alarm wouldn't go off.
