"He goes to pick up the new born baby and guess what? It pees right into his mouth!!!!" I exclaim and they burst into a laughing fit. "Oh, so you guys think that's funny? Wait till you hear what happened to her... " Alan tells them, giving me a sly smile. "Oh no, you don't! " I try to stop him. Akhina and Avanthika are red from laughing too much as we enter the elevator.
Akku, Alan and I are 5th year medical students at CMC(Christian Medical College), Vellore, Tamil Nadu.Avu is an MBA student at Mt.Carmel College of Commerce, presently doing an internship at Jezreel Group of Companies. We all hail from Kerala, God's own country. And we have a hella lot of stories to share coz as CMCians, we get to work and interact with many people from the very beginning, as a part of social service and learning.
Right now, we are at Haram Plaza, the the biggest shopping complex around, to celebrate on behalf of a life changing event in my life. We step out of the elevator once we reach our floor.
Alan goes on from one story to the next, all about my funny endeavors. " Stop! " Avu tries to catch her breath," I can't take anymore...", she tells in between her laughter.
"Adventures of Ashley... to be continued. " Al ends dramatically. "More like mis- adventures! " Akku chuckles. " Yes, maybe my tales never end... Ah!!" I trip on my shoelace and fall forward. "Agreed! " they shout in unison, roaring with laughter. I tie my shoelace, stand up and walk towards the food court, ignoring them. "Ash, wait! " I hear them call from behind but I keep walking, acting angry.
"You ok? " Al asks wiping away tears of laughter. "Humph! " I take a seat at one of the tables in the food court. Akku and Avu comes back after ordering the meals "Another story to her collection."Avu chuckles but quickly quietens at my gaze.
"Ash..."Akku places her hand upon mine, " Cheer up man! It was just a joke! " " I'm not angry guys. Just acting" ,I smile, "I'm actually enjoying this but....." " For heavens sake,don't get all emotional again... " Al begs sarcastically. " Shut up!", I smack his arm and the others giggle." It's not like you're going away or anything... "Akku tells softly. " Umm, you see.. . thats what upsets me, the fact that I'm stuck with you guys forever. " I'm attacked with a couple of kicks under the table and a punch to my arm. " Ok,ok!Sorry! " I give in.
This is the life I've known, the life I've loved. But one thing has changed that all forever... all that's happening now is like a dream.And Life has me waiting for each moment, expecting the unexpected.. .. is the life I've known, the life I've loved.
