The Other Woman
You are green as morning
Light as day
Cold as ice
And so foolish
Clouded as fog
The things which you do not know
Would prick you like thorns
But your mind is pure
Like fallen snow
You lack allure,
Seduction, guile
Barely skimming the surface
Of a complex heart
You wear your heart just like a crown
For all to see in its glory
And it moves love with every beat
As you beam and as you smile
And show your true color
He moves away another mile
A simple heart upon a sleeve
A simple girl is so naive
To lie in bed with roses
But wicked thorns are merciless
For such a hope and such a whim
Shall not forever delight him
He longs to fight, he longs to win
He longs to chase, desires sin
And you know not of her at all
For who's to break you?
Who should care
To take away your vacant stare
Your trust is so misplaced you see
You live in but a reverie
You give your heart so easily
but morning turns to evening
And brings him dark thoughts
She is the night,
A haunting sonata
That chills his bones
And boils his blood
And consumes his mind
She is unparalleled by any other
The image of what could have been
He bows to her for she is queen
Of his thoughts
Of his soul
Of his darkness
It goes unsaid, remains unspoken
One promise made shall now be broken
For she will not give herself away
They are of the same mind
She knows much
Too much
And you know nothing
But then one day after a good pry
You learn about his deadly lie
Your rage and anger cause such hell
Now he is back inside his shell
The crashing waves shall sink your ship
The three of swords, the heart of one
Shall bleed and soon shall come undone
Stinging betrayal opens light eyes
As you see through the disguise
The man you once knew, the lure of a whore
Who wasn't for sale, who needed much more
Who gambled your life away with one sultry breath
Your crown shall soon fall
The queen takes her throne
You're left all alone
With your sparkling stone
He sees in her the shining sun
He sees her once and he is done
Their eyes meet and he knows
Who is heart belongs to:
The one.
Whose laughter like bells rings
So sweet with joy while your tears sting
Such folly shall surely be met
With regret
A choice will be made
As your hopes and dreams fade
As he turns his back,
Lets go...And disappears.
All shall fail but you shall fall
Simple, most foolish of all.
