Just a little over three months ago, internet personality Sean McLoughlin moved to the state of California from his old home in the city of Brighton in the United Kingdom. He chose to move for multiple reasons. The first and foremost being that he had so many good friends in the states. The second reason being that travelling to so many conventions throughout the year wouldn't be so stressful or costly. Another major reason for his move was the confirmation of Article 13. This would make being a social media influencer an even more difficult job than it already was. He needed to escape from Europe so he would still have equal chances at doing what he loves.
It was agreed earlier on that, until he found the perfect home for himself, Sean would be moving in with his fellow YouTuber Mark Fischbach. The two have been friends for a few years now, though not as close as they'd like to be. Their relationship is soon to change for the better, though not in a romantic way. Yes, the two loved each other platonically, but never would they be as close as boyfriends. They both have girlfriends and are already living happy lives. Plus, they don't want to risk losing their friendship, especially when it's yet to become a very strong bond.
At this point, Sean had nearly unpacked every box, aside from the unnecessary boxes with more of his collectibles and nostalgic items. He tries to keep his room clean, still seeing himself as a guest rather than an actual resident in the home. Mark continuously tells him to do whatever he needs to feel more at home, the Korean knows that his friend still isn't comfortable. He wishes that he could do more to make his friend feel at home. It's as if Sean’s nervous about something, but if he is, he's certainly not spoke up about it.
At the moment, Sean was sitting cross-legged on the edge of his bed. He was silently tapping away at his phone, deep in conversation with his girlfriend Gab. She makes sure to text him every morning before she sets up for her daily Twitch streams. She reminds him of how much she loves and misses him. She never ceases to put a smile on Sean's face, which he's always grateful for.
“Are you feeling small at all?” Gab texts. Her boyfriend is a Little. Being small is Sean's way of coping with negative thoughts and anxiety. “I can call you if you need.” Because none of his friends know about his littlespace, he can't look to them when he needs help slipping down. Gab will always call him when he needs it, speaking in a soft tone and asking him questions that have to do with things he likes while in headspace.
Sean feels his cheeks growing a rosy shade of red. “Maybe a little. No pun intended.” He responds, making himself smile. “I'll be okay.” After texting said message, Sean finds himself reaching for one of the stuffed animals on his bed. Since they've been dating, Gab has bought Sean a few stuffed animals. She'd gifted one to him the night he told her about his littlespace. It's actually what caused him to want to open up about his way of coping.
“If you're sure.” Gab responds with a heart emoji. “Don't be afraid to tell Mark if you need anything.” Sean rolls his eyes with a smile still on his face. He appreciates the fact that his girlfriend is sometimes over-protective. “I've got to go start setting up for the stream. I love you, baby.” There it was. The singular phrase that caused Sean to melt. He could practically hear her saying those words. He suddenly found himself tearing up, thinking about how he wanted to be with her.
A knock on his bedroom door causes Sean to jolt in surprise and stuff his phone in his pocket. He pushes back the stuffed rabbit he was reaching for and stands up. “I-It’s open!” He mentally curses himself for audibly stuttering. Walking to the door, Sean wipes at his eyes with the back of his hand before opening the door with a smile. “Oh! Hey, Mark.” He says cheerfully.
Mark stands there with a smile on his own face. His hands are stuffed in the pockets of his flannel. “Hey, bud.” He walks past Sean, entering his bedroom. They agreed early on to always let each other into their rooms. “Just coming to check on you. Plus, I was thinking we could order pizza tonight.” Looking over at the stuffed animals on the bed, he smiles and steps closer. He picks up the stuffed gray rabbit by the arm and holds it in both hands.
