Conrad sighed as he thought about the good days, before Venus had threatened to destroy his kind if they didn't pay the debt. Its been 20 months since he's had fresh water and it's been 30 days since he's had free time. He never sees Sam anymore. It breaks his heart to be honest. Now, he sat slouched over, about to cry. But he reminded himself that strong warriors couldn't cry, crying is for the weak. Apparently, so is sleeping.

The ,now 19 year old demon, sat on his bench waiting for his coach to give him orders. He silently watched the new-blood try to hold their spear correctly, which made him chuckle.

He fumbled with his fingers as his mind trailed back to Sam. They really where best friends back then. At one point, Conrad might have even had a crush on him. His mind went on about where he could have went and why. His thoughts went wild until, suddenly, a child came up to him and asked him, "'Scuse me sir? C-could you please give me that?" The child was about 9 years old and had two front teeth missing. He reminded Conrad greatly of Sam due to his purple eyes and brown hair. He noticed that the child was pointing to a ball that was stuck on a tree in the far end of the field.

Conrad gave a little smirk and walked towards the tree. The ball, of course, was on the highest branch. So it would take a little bit of effort to get it. He started to lift himself up using his tail and soon enough, reached the top of the tree and grabbed the ball. He gave it back to the child who, in return, smiled a toothless smile and ran away to continue his game.

Conrad remembered when he was that young. Of course, his playing games days where over with what was coming soon. He knew there would be a war. But he couldn't fight this war by himself.
