As I brushed past him, I felt an otherworldly aura. It was who they called 'Galaxy Boy'; I would give a million dollars to know his real name. Nobody ever dared to ask him what it was. They claim he always has his head in the clouds and his feet never touch the ground. He did seem to glide about the halls with no care in the world. Of course he probably does, but figuratively he never had ever got close to even touching reality. They say he never had a friend and never will.
"Hey," I said reaching my hand out to him. He turned to look at me and softly smiled as he took one of his earbuds out.
"...'Sup!" He said brightly as he softly smiled, it took a quick second for him to actually notice I was talking to him. His eyes seemed lost in the world, in which he didn't belong. They seemed to linger around my general direction, but never met mine.
"Are you new?" He asked awkwardly as he looked away from me.
"N-no, I have been her for a while now..." I said slowly as I could feel the eyes of students piercing through my tingling skin.
"Must've been mistaken." He said frowning as he flipped some of his bangs out of his face. He was a relatively good-looking kid, hair always a good lengths, well fed, decent height, if it wasn't for his personality, he could be the most popular kid in school. I held the books in my arms tighter in anticipation.
"I-it's fine." I blurted out, not knowing what I was saying as my binder spilled out of my hands. He suddenly dropped to the floor to help me pick up the contents of my binder, before I even realized it slipped.
"Here." He mumbled, looking away from me, as if the floor had more to offer than I did, as he held my binder up to me and got up off of the ground.
"Thanks." I responded half-heartedly as I took the binder back. He did not seem to know how to really talk to other people. Socially awkward maybe? Somewhere in the spectrum? But I can't blame him;
I'm the same way too.
