I closed my eyes crying as soon as those wicked men left. I wanted answers as to why my parents was the ones dead. Why did they targeted my family for? I seen mom and dad lifeless bodies near the table we just started eating at not to long ago. My eyes blood shot and puffy from non-stop crying when those men took off on their horses. The food was getting cold. I looked up to see a finger in the rice. I nearly almost vomit while crying even louder in shock and disbelief. Grandpa rushed in to save me. Word travels fast he wasn't in our village his village is 1 hour away. I looked up shocked and thought I was imagine things again but he reassured me it was him by calling me " juju!" He screams happy that at lest I was ok. Then he told me "I was just about to come down when an elder stopped me and told me it be best to not show up here at the moment." I was so worried but I knew she was right and stayed there." While I stayed there I prayed that yall" his words trailed of when he seen mama laying there lifeless as can be. A tear left one check and the other. He hugged me tight and we stayed there for 10 minutes just crying. no words just speechless with blink like expressions. "my only daughter" he said trying to not choke on his own words. He picked me up and thrown me on his horse. After begging to stay here at wind-hill my neighbors agreed with papa that I stayed with him. All of them said" its not safe for you here anymore". So with that I was packing up the horse with food and stuff for the hour long trip and yank my mama necklace off that was passed down the line of my family for generations. I also got my daddy's swords and grab my mom wedding ring. I put the ring in the loop of the necklace and put it around my neck . "we all ready" said my papa. "yep I think so papa" next stop rocky road village. I looked at mom necklace and started crying. Then suddenly I hear that voice in my head again. "child you are my daughter" great thing lay ahead I promise"
