Falling for a star

Panic

All morning mum has been sitting down, but trying to get up to do things around the house but just give up, and sits Down again. I think she knows something that she's not telling me.
"Are you okay mum" I said in a worried voice.
" yeah I'm fine don't worry about me Bella" mum said quietly but then she closed her eyes and didn't open them.
"Mum! Wake up,mum!" I said crying now. I forgot all about my broken leg and I ran to the phone to called nine one one. An ambulance came.
"Mathew please come down we are going to the hospital" I said shouting at him. A minute later I was in the ambulance with Mathew crying by my side.
"It's going to be alright Mathew, your big sisters here"I said hugging him tightly. It just made things worse, he started crying harder now but I can't blame him, he's only eight.

An hour later,Mathew and I were waiting out in the waiting room.
"You can go in now" said a man in white.
"Thank-you " I said smiling at him. When I went into the room I found Mathew hugging mum unable to let go.
" let go of mum Mathew" I said letting him sit on my lap.
"So what happened mum" I said confused.
"I've had cancer for a while now and I thought it was gone but it has come back."
"When did it come back? Mum" I said worriedly.
"A month" mum said quietly.
"So you mean you've had it for a month and you haven't told me." I said shouting.
"I didn't know how to tell you and Mathew"mum said crying.
A minute later I managed to run on my broken leg with out it hurting me.So i ran out of the room, down the corridor an burst through the doors into the open air and I cried unable to stop. Then I started thinking maybe to call Jake, because I really wanted someone hear that would understand me.
"Jake are you there I need you." I said trying to calm down.
"Where are you?" He said worriedly.
"I'm at the hospital" i said trying to cry.
It took Jake a few hours to get to the hospital but I waited for him anyway.
"What's wrong" he said running up to me.
"It's my mum she has cancer that she never told me about" at this point I was bursting in tears.
"What am I going to do." Jake put me in his arms and hugged me until I calmed down.
"Nothing" he said convinced, "I'm going to help you" he said helping me up so that we both could walk back into the hospital together holding hands.
