It was 9pm on a Halloween night, me and a couple of friends went trick or treating just like we do every year. Except, this year didn't feel right, and I wouldn't know until later what was wrong. We went door to door gathering candy, having fun. As we were going door to door I saw a strange, ominous, shadowy figure standing at the end of the road we were on. It was weird, but not not weird enough for it being Halloween. As we continued gathering candy, the shadowy figure keep getting closer and closer and watching me from every corner. At first I thought it was just some sort of messed up prank. But whoever was pulling this so called "prank" was taking it too far, and it started to freak me out. I asked my friends if they saw what I saw, and they simply responded with "see what? There's nothing there, you need to go home and get some sleep". I turned around and it was just gone. The figure just disappeared. Maybe I was just tired and maybe I was just seeing things, but it was still freaky. I decided it was time to go home and try to get some sleep. On my way home I heard a twig break from behind me. I quickly turned around just to see that nothing was there. I walked even faster, not stopping no matter what, no matter what I heard I wasn't going to turn around. But then it happened, a little tap on my shoulder. It was cold, and the touch sent shivers down my spine. I was hesitant to turn around at the fear of what had touched me, fearing that it was the black, shadowy figure from earlier that I had seemed to imagine. As I turned around slowly that's when I saw it. The pitch black, shadowy figure, that was in a way it was see through as if I could put my hand right through the figure. It had a cold presence, as if it wasn't there at all, as if it was a figment of my imagination. As if none of it was real and it was never there. I woke up in a cold sweat. It all felt so real, how could any of that not have been?
