It was a cold snowy night when it happened. At 8 o'clock, Sally was putting her son to bed as he was only seven years old.

"Go to sleep Percy, you have school tomorrow." She said, amused.
"But m-"
"No buts!"
"...can you sing me a lullaby?"
She smiled and said ok. As she was starting to sing, sally heard a loud sound.

"I'm going to check it out and I'll be right back!"

What Sally saw when she went to check out the source of the noise....... it wasn't what she was expecting to see. What she WAS expecting to see was her drunk husband on the floor, sleeping. He was on the floor, yes, but the blood all around him and the Minotaur standing over her, she assumed, dead husband wasn't in the scenario she expected. As one would assume, she froze. What woke her up from her shock was the voice of her son's whispering.

"Mommy, what's that?"

The Minotaur turned around fast and sniffed the air and looked as if he just smelled the most delicious thing in the whole, wide, world. Sally quickly grabbed her son and ran out of the apartment, the monster following them in rage, like it didn't understand how they dared to run from him. As they ran, the creature tried to pierce Percy with its horns, who, at this point, was scared for his mother's life. Sally seeing this, pushed her son out of the way and got stabbed instead.

The Minotaur was a little confused and shook his head to get her off of him.

Percy was in shock from seeing the woman he cared about the most get stabbed right in front of him. But when he saw the Minotaur shaking its head, trying to get Sally off, he lost it. His blood was boiling with uncontrollable rage. He felt something wake up inside of himself. The creature screamed in agony, as if its blood was boiling. Suddenly, the monster exploded in golden dust. Percy quickly ran to his mother and put her head on his lap, crying. The dying mother raised her hand and whipped the tears but they kept coming.

"M-mom,'snif', please don't leave m-me"

"D-don't worry P-"

She was coughing up blood. Percy stared at her, eye widening, tears still falling from his face. The ground started to shake and crack. Then, they saw flashes.

GODS POV
The gods were currently in a meeting, screaming at each other like five year olds, when the ground stared shaking. Everyone looked at Poseidon but the look on his face told them that he wasn't the one doing it. Then, a look of realization passed through his face, as it was slowly drained from its colour.
He flashed out of the room. The others followed him, a little confused but they knew it was serious as the shaking didn't stop. All of them closed their eyes and flashed to where Poseidon was, they found him crying, looking at a boy and a woman. The woman was clearly injured and wouldn't survive even with medical help. The boy however, couldn't be older than ten but he didn't look too young either but they could tell he was was powerful.

He smelled like the sea.

He was Poseidon's son.

Zeus looked at his brother, anger clear in his eyes but as he really looked at the man, he found himself with a lump in his throat. His brother looked like he got hit by kronos' scythe. But worst. So much worst.
He couldn't bring himself to kill the child, knowing full well that if he did, Poseidon would never be the same.

The gods watched as the boy was looking at his mother, wide eyes and crying. Artemis couldn't even look at them, as she was crying a little bit too.
Then, they heard the boy speak.

"Mommy? I love you..."

She smiled at him and caressed his cheek.

"I l-love you t-too h-honey..."

"M-mommy, I'm going to a-ask you to t-take a deep b-breath in, ok"

The woman had a look of realization pass through her face and then she smiled, took a deep breath, as much as she could.

"Now take it all out, o-ok?"

She exhaled slowly, a look of peace on her face.

And then the boy snapped her neck.

She died peacefully and wasn't in pain anymore.

The boy looks at the sky and screamed as he cried.

It was heart wrenching.

As the shaking of the ground finally stopped, the gods were all crying. Poseidon was the worst as he just witnessed the death of the woman he loved.

The boy slowly turned to look directly at Poseidon and said,

"D-daddy?"
