About an hour later a voice woke Riley up.
"Hey kid. We're here."
Riley blinked her eyes open to see KB standing above her. With a yawn, she nodded and started to pull herself up. KB reached out to help her and when she was fully standing up, the goalkeeper patted her on the back. "We'll be there soon enough then you can get all the rest you need. Just got to wait for our flight now."
Riley still couldn't bring herself to say anything, she just nodded and followed KB off the bus. They walked into the airport in silence. Well, KB walked, Riley dragged herself. Everything that had happened last night was catching up on her, getting no sleep didn't help either. She was exhausted. But she was beating herself up over it. She didn't want this to affect her as much as it did, it was almost humiliating how easy Stacey could get under her skin. And right now Riley needed to be the better person, she needed to be strong. Despite how tired she was right now, mentally and physically.
Once inside the airport everyone was a little bit more on edge. The Lionesses were clearly very excited about the fact they were nearly in France and that the World Cup was just around the corner. But they were also very impatient. They were buzzing around all over the place, in and out of shops, constantly checking and rechecking the weight of their bags and some were even trying to bump themselves up to first class - it wasn't working.
Normally Riley would be happy too, running around taking photos of everyone as they waited but she honestly didn't think she'd be able to control a camera properly today.
Remembering what Phil has asked her to do before they had left SGP, Riley reached into her bag and pulled out her smallest video camera. She took a quick look around and smiled at the scene playing out in front of her.
Leah was desperately rooting through her travel on bag with a frown but next to her was a very bored looking Beth. She was rolling her eyes quite frequently at her teammate as she stood in charge of all their other bags. Riley made her way over to them. "Hey Beth."
Beth's eyes lit up as she saw Riley walking towards her, but it was Leah who spoke first. "I can't find my passport." She muttered as she started to pull items out of her bag and placed them on the chair next to her.
"Leah, Bev has all our passports..." Riley frowned and looked over at Beth who was now grinning brightly.
Leah also looked at Beth, but it was not a happy look, it was a very angry one. "I have just stood here for like ten minutes going through my bag looking for my passport and you knew didn't you? You knew I didn't have it? I look like a right prat."
Beth just laughed loudly. "I wanted to see how long you would keep looking before you remembered. Your memory is as bad as Jord's sometimes."
"Hey how about you go and create chaos somewhere else Beth." Riley cut in before Leah could do any serious damage to Beth. She handed her the camera. "You are in charge of vlog squad part one. Go and film to your heart's content." She showed Beth quickly how to work the camera and the blonde then ran off towards Jodie who was trying to check in.
Leah gave her a grateful look, picked up her and Beth's bags and went over to join Keira and Lucy.
Figuring that her work was done for now, Riley made her way over to where Ellen was sat and dropped down into the chair next to her. Ellen put her phone away and turned so she could look at Riley. "You okay?" She asked carefully.
"Tired." Was all Riley could mutter.
"... You want to talk about it?" Ellen didn't want to push Riley, but she wanted to know that she was there for her.
