I wish that we were just as naïve as human beings. Maybe then, we could hope and we could believe in the human phrase, "It will all work out."

"Madam, please. We must be going now," the woman said, her eyebrows had creased into a knot showing an irk on her forehead. With her worry filled eyes, she stared at the young lady who stared out the window.

Her golden-blonde hair shined in the moon lit room and her brown eyes had a shimmer reflecting the stars of the sky. On her revealed back, was lowered milky-white feathered wings, beautifully placed together in thick layers of the said feathers. They were wings only fit for the princess of their race -- the Angels.

Her mouth curved into a frown. Despite being an Angel, her mannerism was often described as 'ungraceful' and 'a default in the system'.

"I do not wish to attend. Please, could you tell father that I will not be making an appearance," she said weakly, but her voice was firm. Her voice sounded fragile as glass and it scared the woman. It was as if she would break at any second; she worried for her health.

"Right away, madam," she didn't want to argue, "May I ask the reasoning? The king will be upset, madam."

The woman had to try.

The blonde sighed in response.

Maybe she shouldn't have tried.

"That is none of your -- or my father's -- concern. I wouldn't want you to get yelled at, so I'll give you a message to him."

The woman gulped as she nodded, "Yes, madam."

Further away from the castle of beauty, where the royal family lives. Further away from the kingdom of pureness and lights as the night sky brought a breathtaking night. Further away from the city of winged citizens -- living in their world of ideals of good, prosperity and grace. Far away, there was a wall that surrounded the Angel's kingdom. Beyond that wall, was something entirely different.

As any other kingdom in the sky, there were living beings in their own world as well. In that kingdom, was their kind. In that kingdom was their own thoughts of life. As the vast kingdom spreads out far beyond the wall, there was a dark castle in the center of the kingdom. The ground boiled with anger, blushing a vile dark red.

At its peak, was a young man looking out the window in a daze. He had a bright smile on his face despite his surroundings of doom and gloom. His room was a dark, the little light he had came from a single candle. As a result, the moon was the only source that could make his hair color visible. His hair was rosy as his scaled hand made contact with his unnoticeable scale skin.

His onyx eyes were dulled despite his genuine bright smile. The sky was painted with stars and burned the sky relentlessly even as the isolated kingdom darkens with black. Even as the polluted air of ashy debris littered the air and sky.

Suddenly his eyes were blinded by darkness itself, but he laughed. "Hey! What are you doing? I was enjoying the view." The darkness never left and he lifted his hands to his eyes. His warm scaled hands were now in contact of the same hands as his. "Hey, Zeref? Come on, let go."

He heard a sigh and Zeref grumpily saying: "Fine."

He was able to see and immediately caught a glimpse of a man with ink black hair.

"It still surprises me that we both can't use wings like all the other Devils," the young man suddenly said.

Zeref smiled, "You know, we were born because father decided it was a good idea to fall in love with a human."
