"A PARTY?" el has asked max. max nodded, "troy is throwing it, so you know its gonna be big." max told her. el sighed, "i dont know max..." el said. max groaned, "come on el!" she said, "you've never been to an actual party like this before." max told her.

el nodded, "yeah and theres a reason for that." she said. "oh yeah? and whats that?" max asked her. "hmm lets see," el started, "i'm torn between staying home in the comfort of my own bed or be surrounded by a bunch of horny, sweaty, drunk and stoned teenagers. which one do you think i'd choose?"

max rolled her eyes, "well when you put it like that it doesn't sound fun." max said. "max that's because they're not fun." el said, shutting her locker and walking off. max followed beside her, "well not if you have that attitude." max said, "trust me, i've been to these parties and they are fun. you dont even have to drink, just let loose, dance and have fun." max told her.

el sighed, "max..." she groaned, "i would much rather stay home." she told her. "el, you have plenty of nights to stay home. just come to this one party." max begged, "i want you to experience it...please." she implored.

el sighed, thinking about it.

"pretty please?" max asked again. el looked at her and groaned, "fine!" she said. max smiled in victory, "yes!" she said, "you wont regret it i promise." max told her.

"i highly doubt that." el said.

max had suggested that el should invite mike and max will invite lucas. el didn't mind inviting mike, maybe it'd make the experience less miserable.

el loved max but el knew that max was gonna get drunk and start acting all crazy, just like the horny, drunk, sweaty teenagers she was complaining about. el knew max just wanted to live out her teen years to the fullest and have fun while shes still young. el understood. she wanted that too but she didn't like typical high school parties like this.

el had talked to mike about it and he agreed. el was incredibly relieved that she wouldn't be completely lonely.

well, unless mike finds some of his friends and leaves you by yourself, el thought.

el shook those thoughts away, stop being so negative, she told herself.

-

"max invited me too." lucas told mike, "so i guess they're both gonna go." he said. mike nodded, "yeah that makes sense. they are like best friends anyways so..." mike trailed off.

"im so confused," dustin spoke up from the couch, "mike you literally hate parties." he said. mike shook his head, "its not that i hate them." mike said, "i just- i dont know, they're kinda boring." he shrugged.

"also, dont you like hate troy?" will spoke up, sitting on the other end of the couch in mikes basement. "mike doesn't care," dustin said, "as long as he's with el, he couldn't care less, right mikey?" dustin teased. mike rolled his eyes, "shut up." he said.

dustin laughed and mike threw a pillow at him roughly. "ow!" dustin said, "why are your pillows so hard?" he asked. mike ignored his question and sighed, "listen...its senior year, i've been to maybe like...2? parties out of these four years in highschool, i mean one more won't hurt." mike said, "besides, i haven't talked to troy since like 8th grade."
