The first time they make up is when Seulgi stays up past 10 waiting up for the girl.  Joohyun comes home from work, confused to see the frail girl on the couch waiting in the dark.

She almost opens her mouth to speak to her, but remembers what she had vowed during their fight.  When Seulgi just stares at her from the couch and puts her hands up to her head and yells "Stressed!" in a Korean accent.

Joohyun just ends up laughing, but quickly tries to cover it up.  Seulgi just pouts.  "I'm sorry. We're both stressed right now and I shouldn't have said mean things."  Joohyun can't help but walk towards the girl, arms out and open for her,

already forgetting what the original argument was about.

--

Joohyun doesn't want to ruin their friendship so she keeps her lips sealed. She tries not to stare too long when Seulgi's engrossed in a novel.  She tries to stop the butterflies from rising when Seulgi grips her wrist under that blanket during movies.

She most definitely tries not to be jealous when she comes home to Seulgi and a laughing boy, the same laughing shirtless boy she met months ago before she even knew Seulgi.

But sometimes, trying isn't enough and she realizes she's been distant towards Seulgi for a few days and now cold to her guest. She quickly runs away and hides herself in her room before she can do more damage.

The awful green monster rises from the pit of her stomach and she wishes she could just pull it out and stuff it in a jar and then throw it out the window. She runs her hand through her hair, and stands still in the middle of her room, unsure of what to do.

When she hears the front door click, her eyes automatically shut and she says it in her head, 'don't -' but Seulgi's already in her room, door shutting behind her, clearly not amused.

"Why weren't you nice to my friend?"

"Just a friend?"

She wants to clamp her hands over her mouth, but the venomous words are being spat out from her mouth like rain. "What kind of friend hangs around your house half naked?"

"The kind that are classified as 'best friends."

"Whatever."  Joohyun bites her lip and closes her eyes, not wanting to argue anymore.

"You're being unreasonable."

The comment makes her snap and Joohyun pins her hands against the doorframe, Seulgi stuck in between.  The girl winces at the unfamiliar reaction and it causes Joohyun to realize what she is about to do.

She stares, perhaps a moment longer than she really should, then shakes her head.  I can't.  Joohyun takes a step back, turning away from Seulgi and whispers softly.  "Sorry. Please leave me alone."

She starts to walk, but her wrist gets caught by the familiar hand and voice.  "Wait." Joohyun hisses under her breath, not ready for this moment. Seulgi holds on tighter. "Tell me what... what am I to you?"

The words get stuck in her throat out of fear, but that doesn't stop Seulgi from insisting.  "What am I to you?"  She dares not to turn around and whispers so softly that Seulgi has to strain her ears to hear it.

"Everything."  Joohyun almost cries when Seulgi lets go of her hand. She almost falls to her knees when Seulgi says nothing in return.

But then Seulgi wraps her arms around her waist and puts her forehead against the back of her neck and kisses it softly.  "Good, because I like you, too."

That one sentence is enough for Joohyun to take a leap of faith and let Seulgi dive deeper into her heart.
