I heard the door slam. Why was this happening tonight? I put on shoes and headed out the balcony window. I have to get out of here. That monster doesn't have the right to do what he does to me, but. I have to take it.
Silently, I climbed down the ivy and started down the driveway. I got into my car, knowing that the only place I would be safe was at his house.
I started the car with a shaky hand. I couldn't remember the last time it was a regular night, but it hasn't been the same after everything that's happened.
----------------------------------------------
The roads were dark, with almost no one on them. I knew the way like the back of my hand. I could drive there in my sleep.
His house was on the left. It was a grayish color. I pulled into the driveway.
I saw lights turn on. I forgot to call them. My subconsciousness butted it.
I was about to leave when I saw a shirtless figure run out into the cool fall night.
"Emma, are you ok? Did he hurt you?" Harry's voice was filled with concern.
I was sobbing by this point. Of course he understood. He's witnessed it before.
"Yes, I'm ok, I think." I tell my best friend of 10 years.
"Come inside now, you'll freeze out here."
"Harry, you have no shirt on." I started to giggle. I already felt better just being in his presence.
Harry smirked at me. "Hey, I was worried about my best friend, ok? No time for clothing."
"Whatever Harry." You say trying but losing to keep the smile off your face.
"Come inside, it's nice and warm."
"Thank you Harry."
"No problem, Ems. Let's go upstairs."----------------------------------------------As I settled into bed with my best friend, I knew that even with everything shitty in my life, I still had him, and I was ok with that.
"Harry?"
"Hmm?"
"Thank you." I whispered quietly.
"Anything for you, love."
