"That top looks so good with your glasses!" Allegra exclaimed as she smiled approvingly at her best friend, Irene. School starts next week and the friends were shopping for some clothes and supplies.
"Thanks," Irene blushed and she pushed her large, heavy, and geeky glasses up her nose. She was always quiet and shy, even around Allegra. They paid for the clothes and strolled out of the shop with heavy bags swinging from their hands.
"Do you want to eat something in the food court?" Allegra asked. Irene shook her head, explaining that her parents don't allow her to eat in the food court because the food is unhealthy. Allegra raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. Irene is starting 8th grade next week, her parents are too protective! She thought silently and they waved goodbye as Allegra went in her house.
