Skylar (October 1st)

The rain is pouring heavily and the streets are all clogged up with puddles. My vision is blurry due to windshield's covered in intense rainwater, which is a bit frightening.

The winding roads are busy with  buzzing cars and the dimness of the night is visible, in which is situated against the heavy smell of soil.

The city never really sleeps, I agree. I noticed a small cafe situated against two big buildings and decided to wait there until the rain gets a little light.

Don't get me wrong, I love rain very much to the point that I would just lay on the ground and let the majestic clusters of water pour over my flawed body.

However, I can't let that happen for now is the day I get to visit my sister, Naiya in which I haven't seen in years. She is like my second mother for she takes care of me even if I'm literally 17 years old and she is just 8 years older than me.

She's a burst of bubble to people whom she made contact with. She gave me an urgent call that I need to go to her house as soon as possible in which she gave no clear reason to pick it out. Maybe it's a surprise, It's my birthday after all.

Anyway, as I got inside the cafe, I noticed forehand that the people in here is heavily coated with pitch-black suits. Maybe they're businessmen who sought shelter from the inevitable rain or maybe they are serial killers who came here to find their next victim or maybe they are cops who found their prime suspect in this place or maybe I'm just too judgemental. My years of reading mystery/thriller books really made an effect on me.

I found my sanctuary in one of the tables situated against the thick glass which read, brew me a kiss. Corny.

A petite waitress tailed me as I sat and gave me a menu in which I politely accepted. Don't want to give off bad vibes as first impression in this unknown and unfamiliar place after all.

I ordered a cappuccino and a strawberry shortcake and waited until my food came in sight. Meanwhile I fixated my vision on the old Telvision set with a news reporter on screen explaining the weather and the constant rain in Miami and how it is caused by a Low Pressure Area near the coast.

My vision was abrupted when a breaking news flashed startlingly. A male news reporter with the broadcasting station Ignite had pop up on screen and which more looked more of a cop than a reporter.

Blame my mystery/thriller books for my judgemental side.

"Apologetic as we are to startle your night rituals but here we bring you the latest news of the night. A man was found dead in his apartment at Bal Harbor just this time, having no visual signs of attack with the only thing visible is the mark on it's neck, a raven perched in a brach in which we could say as a trademark. On the other hand, the man was identified as Jason Morphine which is one of the pillars of the drug industry in the country. Could this be a real crime or a vigilante attack? Goodevening".

Just by then, the newsflash ended, returning to the weather report. The lady reporter still is blabbering weather-terminologies in which, if I am not mistaken, was said by her before. Redundancy is a sin, I proclaimed. Sad me.

My mind wandered off to the newsflash. An unknown killer? This city is threatening and fascinating at the same time considering that I am deeply inlove with mysteries.

But, he said vigilante, does the killer only focuses on killing blood-thirsty, greedy, insatiable monsters disguised as humans? Interesting.

I started to eat my 'food' in which is:
1. Not appetizing and 2. Looks like it's about to rot but surprisingly, it tastes well, not that good as the 'restaurant-kind' one but enough to become a good 'waste of time'.
