He had dealt with so much nonsense over the years; an absentee father and a drunk mother, teachers and classmates who hated his guts, idiot delinquents who kept starting fights with him (if you're weak then don't bother!), dying (twice), Spirit World's bull crap assignments, bloodthirsty demons, psychics with split personalities, and etc. With the amount of blood spilled in the past and present, of course people would believe that Yusuke Urameshi was the type of man who fears no one and was instead one meant to be feared or at least watched with a wary eye.

Yusuke appreciated the sentiment, but, sadly, those people were wrong. There were several things that worried him.

Number one, at this moment, was being a father.

Yusuke Urameshi—ex-delinquent, ex-Spirit Detective, current S-Class Mazoku—scared of being a father.

All he could do was hold his wife's hand as she was birthing his twin sons. Thirteen hours. He hadn't looked away from his wife once to bother keeping track of time, but he knew that much time had passed. Though, if he was being honest, it actually felt more like thirteen years.

Many questions ran through his mind in a flurry. What if his demon DNA hurts Keiko and the children?

What if they're attacked by demons when he's not around ?

What if one of them dies? Or both?

What if he fails at being a father?

His father was rarely there for him. What if he doesn't know how to act like a good father? What if he became just like that deadbeat?

They might hate him.

One mistake could ruin everything—

Keiko's hand tightened around his. His internal ranting ended.

She smiled at him despite the stress she was in herself. Sweat ran down her reddened face, and there were bags under her eyes due to exhaustion. She was in the most pain and yet she was trying to comfort him...Yusuke's expression softened, and then he snorted.

"Hey, hey! I should be the one comforting you, not the other way around." He grinned, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb. "I ain't the one giving birth."

Hours later and the twins were finally born. They were small and plump with bright red flesh and thin strands of black hair stuck to their faces. They were covered with blood and other fluids, and practically screeching like mini banshees, but that didn't stop the warm feeling forming in his chest. These were his kids. His two precious little boys. He might've teared up a little while he helped with cutting off their umbilical cords.

Like hell he would tell anyone about this.

Especially Kuwabara!

Keiko wrapped her arms around the twins as they were placed on her chest after being washed. Their wails were reduced to mere whimpers as they were dried with towels by nurses. Her precious little angels. Words can't express the adoration she felt for her boys. They were made by her and the man she loves. It was a guarantee that they will get unconditional love ...

...But...

Keiko pursed her lips.

Will they be able to live normal lives?

Demons and other supernatural beings were a big factor of their lives. Heck! Their father is a half-demon and will likely outlive them all. Keiko grimaced at the thought. She could already tell that having that conversation with her children wasn't going to be easy.

Will they react positively or negatively to this when they're old enough to understand?

Will they even want to live normal lives?

What if they rather fight demons?

What if they get hurt or worse, killed!?

Keiko shook her head. 'You chose this life, Keiko. Worrying over what ifs won't do anything but bring more stress.' She thought. What she needs to do now is take care of her children and be strong. She peered at Yusuke. He was currently stroking one of the infant's cheeks with a beaming grin.

If any of those scenarios were to come true then she would fight tooth and nail for her children. Even if she doesn't have powers like her husband she will find a way. What kind of mother would she be if she just stood around waiting for something to happen? She ran into a burning house to save Yusuke's body, she would gladly do the same for her Kensuke and Yosuke. She placed a hand behind her husband's head and kissed him on the temple.

Later that day, their friends and family visited. First to arrive were the grandparents. Keiko's parents kept taking pictures of the twins all while cooing and gushing. Yusuke and his mother, Atsuko, were having an argument. Atsuko wanted to hold the twins, but it was obvious that she was a bit toxicated. Then came Kazuma, Shizuru, Kurama, Yukina with a boatload of gifts for the twins and new parents. There was only soft conversations between friends since loud noises would startle the newborns, even Kazuma and Yusuke were keeping their bickering to a minimum. Botan rushed in as fast as she can and skidded to a halt. She had to cover her mouth in order to stop the squeals that threatened to escape.

Normal mothers would usually be overwhelmed by this amount of people in their room. Keyword being normal. She forfeited normalcy the moment she hunted Yusuke down at the Dark Tournament.

The doctor allowed the visitors to stay a little while longer before having them leave just so he can start the twins' physical exams. Everyone poured out of the room. Keiko trailed her affectionate gaze away from her family to the two newborns she was currently breastfeeding. "You both have the greatest family in the world...we're all here for you. Forever and ever." She whispered.

One of the infants twitched with a gurgle as if responding to her promise.
