"My Edgelord" A Sonic X Shadow Fanfic

Chapter 1

(Sonic's Point Of View)

June 23rd. Today was finally my birthday, the day me and Shadow would get to spend the weekend together. We had been planning this for months, and I've been looking forward to it since. Shadow and I have been friends for the longest time now, and I always find myself feeling happier whenever he's around. Ever since the space colony ark, me and his other friends have always been here to support him.

I awoke bright and early, speedier than ever, ready to do my daily run, until I could hear the sound of Tails knocking at my bedroom door. "Mornin' Sonic!" he calls from the other side of the door, "You're hanging out with Shadow today, right?" the two tailed fox asks. "Yup, that's right!" I reply back, opening the door with a spring in my step. I smile brightly at him, not wanting to hide the joy in my expression. "You sure seem happy." Tails smugly points out to me, "Looking forward to seeing your boyfriendddd?" I notice the heat swelling up in my face, and I plaster on a nervous tone. "I dunno what you're talking about." I shrug at the fox, knowing full well I wasn't fooling anyone.

Following my morning routine, I finally hear the buzzing of my phone, indicating a new text message. I check my notifications to be met with the nickname I put in my phone for Shadow. "❤️My Edgelord❤️" The message had read, "I'm outside, ready to go?" I couldn't even begin to describe the happiness and nervous feeling that filled my stomach. I called out a quick, "Shadow's here, cya Tails!" and you could bet I sped out the door quicker than being called out to deal with Eggman. I leave the house and I'm met to see Shadow standing outside the door, an amused expression covering his face. "Heh, you're out here quick." the black hedgehog notices, sticking his tongue out at me. I could feel a blush paint my face and I bit my lip to keep from stuttering. "I could say the same to you, faker." I tease.

We both walk alongside each other in silence, and at some points I think I notice Shadow looking down at my lips, but I don't dare to look at him. Soon we find ourselves at The Chao Garden where we would be camping for the weekend. The sun had begun to set and the lights emitting from the waterfall began to illuminate the garden, painting a beautiful scenery that seemed almost too beautiful to be real, but I couldn't help but find my eyes only focused on Shadow, appreciating his physique. How pleasing to the eye he was, and how good he looked in the lighting. I kept my composure as we greeted the Chao's and began to set up our things for the long weekend. We got a fire started, and me and Shadow found ourselves sitting together to keep warm. Soon enough, we moved closer and closer until our shoulders were almost touching. 

I look over at the black hedgehog, meeting his eyes, before looking down in embarrassment. Shadow seems to notice this, but he only replies to me in a wink. "Like what you see?" The hedgehog says. My face only gets redder and I start smiling. "H-heh...maybe I do." I flirt back to him, attempting to keep my confident composure. Shadow continues to gawk at me, and purposely moves closer to me so we're finally making physical contact. "What's the matter blue blur? You nervous?" He stuck his tongue out at me. "I-I'm okay!" I blurt out, not noticing my voice was shaking. My face was comparable to a tomato at this point. The black hedgehog notices, and begins to turn towards me, putting his hands on my chest. He pushes up to my face, our noses touching, leaving me unable to move. I let out a panicked nervous laugh before saying, "Shaaadow? Wh-...whatcha doing buddy?" "Oh, nothing." He teases with a smirk, before quickly locking his lips with mine. My eyes widen with surprise, until I begin to ease into the kiss, accepting how soft his mouth was, and how calming his touch was. We pull away to breathe, and we look at each other with lust. "You're my edgelord, Shadow." I say to the hedgehog before biting my lip. "And you're my faker." He replies with a smile.
