The Boy

It was dead silence between the two, Wang Yibo is speechless.

He couldn’t process everything at the same time, the revelation about Xiao Zhan’s illness and his hopeless love. He doesn’t know what to think first and how he should respond to him. Should he just accept everything that Xiao Zhan said about finding a new love interest?

Is it really hopeless for the two of them? Should he just give up? His mind is in a mess, everything is jumbled and unnecessary thoughts keep on coming. His head hurts but his heart is more hurt.

It aches, the thought of breaking everything off with Xiao Zhan hurt him, the thought of not being by his side is the most painful thing that he could ever thought of. He looked at Xiao Zhan and couldn’t help but be happy and sad at the same time.

“Aaah… I can’t live without him after all.” He said to himself. He reached out a hand to Xiao Zhan to wipe the tears. 

"Don’t think like that, no matter how long you live we will be together ok? Come on stop crying now.." Wang Yibo smiled.

“That’s right, no matter what the future brings, as long as I’m WITH YOU it doesn’t matter. Nothing’s matter at all.” Is all what Wang Yibo can think of right now.

Xiao Zhan was speechless, Wang Yibo words made him happy, he’s so happy that instead of stop crying, he bawled like a child in front of Wang Yibo.

“Are…Are you really sure? Are you sure that you want to be with me despite of everything?” He looked at him with his beautiful and pitiful eyes. Wang Yibo sighed and smiled gently at him while wiping the tears that never stop flowing.

“I’m sure, there’s no mistake that I want to be with you. And even though this decision of mine is a mistake I will never regret it.” Wang Yibo said.

The two young men lean on each other, silently staring at the empty space in front of them. Wang Yibo patiently waited for Xiao Zhan to calm down and to talk to him.

"When I was a kid, I was diagnosed with congenital heart defect and was operated - but still, even after the operation, I didn't live a normal life. I can't do what other kids normally do, I end up dropping school. The Hospital become my home, I wasn’t allowed to go out or to go home at our house. No one visited me except my family, I feel like I’m living my life in a nutshell. And when I was finally discharged from the hospital, I convinced my parents to let me go to school again but it’s not the same anymore. I can’t always attend classes, I can’t participate most of the events at school, I can’t even hang out outside with my friends, I didn’t even experience to go to a school trip.” Xiao Zhan smiled bitterly.

Wang Yibo heart tightened as he listen to all of the hardship that Xiao Zhan faced, he hate himself for not being there at those time to support him but without saying a word, he continued to listen to him.

“You see, I accepted that I can’t do what others can, I’m fine with it already but last month everything falls apart, my hope, my dream, all of it broke into pieces. I collapsed again and when I woke up the doctor said that I don’t have much time to live… He said that the longest would be two years and if I’m luck it might extend for a month. I…I… I’m fine even though I can’t live like others, it’s ok.” Xiao Zhan start crying again but continued to talk.

He want Wang Yibo to know everything about him, he want him to understand everything about him.

“My family was really shocked, they keep crying and I feel sorry for them so I decided that I just have to accept it again, I mean… there’s nothing else I could do but to accept it right? The doctor said that it's a miracle that I still have the energy and I can still enjoy some part of life. So instead of staying in the hospital like what I used to when I was a kid, I begged my mom to let me attend school and experience a normal life of a student. I attended the school where A-Cheng is and when I got nominated as the Student council president I was really happy. I feel like I could experience more when it happened and then you came…" Xiao Zhan look at Yibo and smile while wiping his tears

"Then you came and at that moment, my whole world change. Something started to grow in me, feelings that i never felt before. You made everything special, you made me experience everything as if all of it are new, even though I know that this won’t last long I’m still thankful that you appeared before me and that you become a part of my life.”

Wang Yibo grinned and pinched his cheeks, “Not yet… Not all of it yet, I haven’t showed and let you experienced everything yet.” Hearing the words of Wang Yibo, Xiao Zhan smiled and touched his hands.

Wang Yibo hands are warm, It makes him comfortable and feel safe.

2 Months has passed since they talked about Xiao Zhan’s condition, and since then they spent their days and nights together, going to school together, eating out together, going home together and then doing what Xiao Zhan wants to do and right now, they are together at the Amusement park walking around and looking at the stalls. Since Xiao Zhan was so excited and keep on talking about different rides and games, Wang Yibo wanted to try everything for him.

When they arrive at a stall where they need to throw big rings and have to shoot it on the statues standing a little far from the counter.

The game is kind of popular among kids and teens because most of the prizes are cute stuff toys.

Xiao Zhan is interested in the donkey and the turtle for some reason so he want to try it. 100 yuan per 2 shots, Wang Yibo Voluntarily paid for it and took the rings instead of handing it to Xiao Zhan he smiled at him and whispered into his ear.

“Leave it to me, I will get it for you.”

Xiao Zhan blushed and covered his face in embarrassment. And without putting much effort, Wang Yibo got the donkey with single try.

“Here, for you!” he said handing the donkey to Xiao Zhan.

"I'll call it little apple!" Xiao Zhan smiled and hugged the little donkey as if it’s something so precious.

"Yibo can you get the Turtle too? Please?" Xiao Zhan looked at Wang yibo and requested with a puppy eyes.

“Of course, anything you want I’ll give it to you.” Wang Yibo smiled.
There’s still one more ring so Wang Yibo don’t need to pay for another pair but still he did to get more stuff toys for Xiao Zhan. He throws a ring and it perfectly landed to the statue for the turtle.

Xiao Zhan cheered and clapped in joy. And then he threw another ring again and naturally he got the prize! Xiao Zhan couldn’t help but be amazed that he started shouting in joy.

“Way to go!” Xiao Zhan cheered.

Wang Yibo winked at Xiao Zhan that made the young man blush, Wang Yibo smiled again and then he slowly turned to the side and throw the last ring.

The ring didn’t wasn’t thrown into the statues, Wang Yibo didn’t threw it. Instead of a statue, someone is inside the ring…

Someone that Wang Yibo wanted the most, the one that he like the most. Xiao Zhan’s eyes widen in disbelief, the scene attracted quiet a number of audience, some were shocked and some chuckled because of his reaction.

Their relationship is not a secret. They got their parents approval and everyone at their school and neighborhood knows about it.

Though there might be some people who won’t understand them, they never tried to hide it even when they’re outside. It was pretty obvious that these two handsome men are couple and a sweet one on top of that. The staff laughed at them and grinned at Wang Yibo.

"CONGRATULATIONS for winning the toys and…” The staff paused and chuckled, “and the boy” he continued.

“Tha—Thank you!” Xiao Zhan said.

He grabbed Wang Yibo and run away from the crowds. It might be embarrassing but he can’t deny that it made him happy. The two are running and laughing while holding each other’s hand tightly.
