"So...much...energy,,,lost...for...tainting...the...sword...this...is...the...cost." Jason gasped, then collasped.
"Jason!!!!" Lapis shouted as she rushed to Jason's side.
Lapis picks up Jason with a water stretcher and carries him into his house, setting him down on the couch. "Dang it, Jason, why did you have to up and pass out on me?" Lapis murmured to herself. She went to get some supplies when she saw the others standing there. Emily handed Lapis what she was going to get. "Thank you."
"No problem," Emily replied. "What do you think he meant by what he said?"
"That sword is not how it was supposed to look. it was white when he got it. I'm guessing that by resetting, he forgot how to properly wield the sword, so it has been tainted, turning it black." Lapis replied, tending to Jason. When she was finished, she pulled up a chair and watched Jason. "You should probably go home." She told them.
"Ok, tell me when he isn't weak." Delphi walked out.
"I hope jay-san gets better soon." Alice sighed before walking home.
"You don't have to do this alone Lapis," Emily said. after waiting a couple of minutes, she walked home.
"Call me when senpai wakes up," Nora said.
"Trust me, you will be the last person to find out." Lapis glared at her. "And drop the senpai bit. It's starting to get annoying." Nora left pouting. Lapis sat staring at Jason for a couple of hours. She fell asleep in the chair and woke up in a bed. "what the?" Her eyes opened wide as she realized what must have happened. She jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. she looked at the empty couch and started panicking a little. Suddenly, she smelled food coming from the kitchen. She looked to see Jason in an apron making what she assumed was breakfast. She ran towards him and planted her lips on his cheek.
"What was that for?" Jason grins and looks at her.
Lapis pointed to the apron that said 'kiss the cook.' "So, what are you making?"
"I didn't know what you like, so I made eggs, bacon, sausages, hashbrowns, pancakes, waffles, some softshells, salad, and assorted fruit,"
"How long have you been cooking?"
"About three hours."
"You really didn't have to do this. I would have been fine with anything you make."
"I prefer to go above and beyond. Sometimes, I will even go beyond that."
"So how are you feeling?"
"Like I was hit by a flaming bull, then tried to sleep off the pain."
"That bad, huh?"
"It could be worse."
"How could it be worse?"
"Never meeting you." Jason grins and Lapis blushes. Lapis punches Jason in the arm. "OW!!! What was that for?"
" Being perfect," Lapis says with a straight face. She punches him again.
"How can you do that with a straight face?" Jason laughs.
"I really don't know." Lapis tries to punch him again but he dodges. "Stand still."
"No." Jason dodges more punches.
"Oh, you think this will be easy?" Lapis raises an eyebrow.
"Yes, I do actually. Hit me with your best shot." He taunted.
"As you wish," Lapis said with a bow. She stood up straight and created a set of armor with the water that she condensed into ice. She made a sword that was a darker blue. She swung the sword at him, making him lunge to the side.
"Outside, now." Jason ran towards the door, picking up Lapis on the way. When they go outside, Jason grinned. "Go ahead and try to hit me if you're able." Lapis lunges at Jason and sings several times at him. He dodges each slash that Lapis makes. He sticks his hands in his pockets and lunges forward, kicking Lapis in the gut. She laughs and tries to slice him again. He pulls one hand out of his pocket and shatters the ice sword. Lapis manifests two more and her slicing speeds up. She creates an ice wall behind him and launches ice spikes at him.
'i've got him.' She thought. A burst of white light shatters the spikes. Jason is holding a gray sword. It looks different than genesis, but not quite pure.
"It's been fun but now it's got to end." Jason seemingly teleports behind her and shatters her armor. "You almost got me there." Jason hugged Lapis.
"Woo-hoo!!! Go, Jason!!! Go, Lapis!!!!!" Someone yelled in excitement.
