What I Am

What I Am

I am the king of faraway land,

Land of wealth, might and power,

Out to conquer, add to number,

I am the king of faraway land.

I am the Queen of Hearts, of lovers,

Fates of couples, I'm the decider,

In my presence, all will cower,

I am the Queen of Hearts, of lovers.

I'm the dream-seller, seller of dreams,

What do you want, lack or need,

All I have, and more; so take heed,

For I'm the dream-seller, seller of dreams.

I am the keeper of prisons, long and thin,

Whenever my fancy, prisoners may go,

Whether they're good, bad; friend or foe,

I am the keeper of prisons, long and thin.

I am just a student, meek and mild,

Studying hard, getting good grades,

Working till the sun fades,

When three o'clock arrives each night,

I'm no longer a student,

But the king, the Queen; dream-seller and keeper,

I am who I am, till first morning light.
