___22 years ago, a top secret government project called 'Genie's Game' took young boys and girls who either wouldn't be missed from around the country or who were volunteered by family members who would work at the facility, and raised them. Here they were pushed through a ruthless training setup designed to try and create the perfect weapon.
The end goal of Genie's Game was a military trained person who followed orders without question and carried out actions with swift and fatal accuracy if needed. One who could be ready at any time of day to simply drop everything and leave, and one who could adapt and hide in plain sight as well as follow any order given to them from their established superior.
To do this, they decided on a combination of extensive physical and emotional training and brutal rewriting of the subjects personalities and sense of moral code, or for a less fancy but frowned upon term at what was simply known as the Facility, brainwashing.
5 years into the study, funding was almost cut off when a small handful of the highest susceptible subjects died because they hadn't been instructed to breathe. The doctors argued that the small amount of subject deaths was inevitable and that with the remaining subjects' steady improvement, even worth it.
The doctors' argument worked and funding was once again freely flowing, as the deaths were simply marketed as "clearing out the weak."
14 years went by without incident until one of the doctor's went against the code of conduct for interacting with the subjects and a fire was started in an effort of an escape plan.
The compound was almost completely burned to the ground, doctors and subjects alike burned alive inside, when the electronic security system failed to open the doors.
Out of 200, the 19 subjects who survived were simply abandoned to die by the surviving doctors and personnel, and at least 10 of those are known to be dead from injuries sustained from the fire.
Instructed to blend in as his last orders, subject X is one of 9 possible unknowns to survive.
